Harouna Samake is regarded as one of Mali's foremost Kamele n'goni players. For years he performed in the band of living legend Salif Keita, while also performing on more than 50 records of other artists like Bassekou Kouyaté, Djessou Mory Kante and Zani Diabaté. In the summer of 2018 he finally released his first solo album, 'Kamale Blues'. Subtlety twinkling guitar - and kamele n'goni- lines, intertwine effortlessly with gripping vocals, driven by groovy bass and percussion, resulting in glorious, danceable music. His lyrics tell tales about immigration, gender-relations and human rights, mostly sung in Bambara.
