Key areas around Kikuyu. Kikuyu (Railway) Station or ceceni, Kikuyu mission area or miceni, Thogoto, named after R. Scott who was in charge of the mission in 1901, Fort Smith which was a Government administrative camp is located in present day Ndumboini near Uthiru, Ondiri swamp (derived from Old lake) is a water catchment area and forms the Kikuyu springs, which is a major source of water for Nairobi( The Nairobi river also originates here). The little Church at the end of the video is Watson Memorial, which was the predecessor to Church of the Torch built from 1929 to 1933. Thanks for filming my hometown. Great video!

Where in Kikuyu if I may ask. I can see there are a few structures coming up within town and the building by Posta is complete. A small town in terms of area but very vibrant with a lot of potentials. It's my home town as well.

@@Estherkare The one near crave kitchen towards the Railway lines was done sometimes last year. The Posta building as well. Bethsaida Gardens area is the posh suburbs of Kikuyu town. BTW that road from Kikuyu towards the steel mills was connected to Nakuru/NBI highway near Sigona Golf Club. It's a small bypass of some sort. Nice talking to you.

Some of those structures in the middle of town look like they are about to topple! I hope some supervision is carried out by the town so that lives aren’t endangered by constructors cutting corners.

@@TonnyOkello Yeah, good observation. The plots are very small and narrow. I believe there are proper construction methods and supervision. As they go up, they look very slender. But, structural engineering can help with that. Very nice town nevertheless.

There's so much untapped potential in Kiambu. We can be a mini Switzerland under the right leadership. But if the people keep electing dunderheads like Waititu & Co. we'll go nowhere. I dare say Kiambu people are among the most enterprising, proximity to Nairobi notwithstanding.
