@@inmythoughts718 I'm aware that Africa is a big continent with multiple countries that each have many diverse cultures and languages. While Afrobeats may be a single genre from the variety of genres that come out of SA, my statement was just sharing that I listen to artists from all three countries. Thanks for the browbeat.
@chichi59262 жыл бұрын
Lol. They just told u it's not from SA and u still refer to it as an SA music. Also, what you mean by all 3 African countries? There are over 54 countries here darling
@LatashaTrueHeart2 жыл бұрын
@@chichi5926 and @BOUNCEBACK ALWAYS One has a lot of ground to cover with 54 countries. I think three countries are a good enough start. All I have to do is add to that and before you now it.... You know, you're very critical. I didn't say all of them were SA. I just said that I like the sounds I've heard from there and the other places. I'm not quantifying all that is in this video. I'm saying/sharing what little I have been exposed to. I don't have a lot to go on other than the people who have exposed me to their cultures. You're not a very good ambassador for any African culture/country right now. You're simply being judgmental. Rather than sharing artists or countries I can listen to and learn about, you cut me down and discourage my desire to learn about any more than what I have already heard. I love music. I welcome new genres and artists to explore. Thank you for showing me reasons to maybe not want to go to the place where my ancestors were ripped from. Perhaps some black people in Africa will never accept the descendants of black people in America. I gravitate to it to have some better idea, understanding, knowledge of the people and places my lineage could possibly come from and/or the places and people who I see in the various black people who live here in the US. The Bible says there is life and death in the tongue. Your treatment and harshness of my novice is killing my enthusiasm. You could be a better teacher. I may never want to go visit wherever you are from because you are demonstrating that I, who could be a distant cousin, may very well not be welcomed. I've always been encouraged to learn more about different places in Africa. I have found pleasure in what few things I have been exposed to. I do want to learn more, but certainly not from the likes of you. Now I have to be more careful where I choose to go if I ever decide to make my way there.
@chichi59262 жыл бұрын
@@LatashaTrueHeart Oh wow! You play the victim much? My comment was correctional and not critical. but if it was, you didn't have to write all that. Nobody said anything about not coming here. But do what you wish. Before you travel, maybe google what tribe the name "Luchi Tito" is from then don't go to that land, because we have tough skin here and you mightn't survive. But the more liberating thing to do would be to visit every single land in Afrika and have fun regardless of what a mean youtube critic said. Please, booboo, kill that victim mind set, it'll get you no where in life, especially not in Afrika. Having said all that, the genre you're thinking from SA is amapiano, and the sound is mad. When it comes on, all you want to do is bob your head and shake your legs like a drunk. Google Amapiano and jam to the top 50 hits on there. I swear every single artist is fire. SA artists are mental with the beat. When you're done with Amapiano, google afrobeat. It's westafrikan (Nigeria-Ghana). First listen to Fela (maybe his top 5 hits) just to get an interesting introduction, then listen to Burna Boi, Wiz Kid, and Temz. Afrobeat is also as mental as Amapiano, so give these 2 genres a start before hitting the Congos and East Afro music. Peace and love

I grew up hearing a little bit of konpa from my Haitian step father's side, zouk from my French mother's side, reggae and soca from being born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I took some classes in different afro dance styles as I got older. African dance styles is so unique, the way it grounds you to the earth and connects your heart to something. It's powerful af. I'm not gonna lie, I always wished I was African to know what it truly and wholly feels like to dance African dance to African music with African blood and African soul. I cannot dance like I used to. I developed a disability that makes body movement painful and stiff, but whenever I watch the endless hours of afrobeats choreography on YT and IG, I can't help but roll my hips and chest around. 💗 I am so grateful that afrobeats is becoming more popular worldwide because it is such a groovy vibe.
