My mom was dating a guy from I believe Nigeria in the 80's. He played a lot of cultural music. This song is one that stood out for my siblings and me. We would also sing this song and when we were recently reminiscing on childhood, I decided to Google the words and WA LA I FOUND IT!! Thanks to whomever added this song to KZbin.

@ologboa3 жыл бұрын
For this particular song, the bass guitar was played by Mike Odumosu. I do not know if he is his Aston Barrett as there were up to three bassists in this album. The song was written and arranged by Eddy grant.

@MercyAluMusic4 жыл бұрын
Fela's music was mostly the same style, that is not easy to follow for everyone. The life example with multiple women, drugs, and HIV etc, is not a good example. He had great messages, but mostly in Yoruba highlife style okay. He was a great international artist as well. Sunny Okosun was a Pan Africanist, global beyond Nigeria. He brought Nigerian music to the limelight and released songs through Shanachie well known in Southern Africa and globally, and also EMI music, and Jive Music etc. Sunny Okosun is actually more of a legend. He fought for African freedom all over. All his songs carry great messages. He didn't have a shrine like Fela, he carried the message everywhere.
@oluseyiakinlade59784 жыл бұрын
Fela of course
@racassiusmatohson52442 жыл бұрын
Sunny Okosun was an African freedom fighter, an activist of nonviolent social change.He was a global hero demanding redemption for Africa and its people against neocolonialism. Fela for his part was a Yoruba icon and regional African musician. He is not equal to Sonny Okosun.
