Afrojack tells the story behind his Avicii collab after being sent a remake of it as a joke

On 12th Sep during a demo listening session, Afrojack got sent a remake of his Avicii, Giorgo & David Guetta collab called "Live Your Life". After listening Afrojack went on to tell a story on how the song was made & why it will never get a release along with a few other questions related to their song.

My story:
Yesterday (12th Sep) I got the idea to send in a Live Your Life remake as a joke to Afrojack during his demo listening session just to see how he would react and what he would say without me really expecting anything. Funnily enough he couldn't determine if it was a remake or genuine instrumental leak when listening and got really impressed by it and even called it a 1:1 remake. Credits to Luxe over on Discord that uploaded Frankz Room's remake & sent it to Nick, this wouldn't have happened without his help.

Afrojack being surprised that someone was able to remake this song is gold…the sound design in this genre is easy to reproduce, and so can the melody be with a reference track

Avicii was all about the melodies but leads were important too. People remake similar leads but I don't think I've seen one remake still to this day that is a 1 to 1.

@@BiggusNickus it’s different once everyone knows the sounds and there are million of songs that are a copy. back then, a track like that was new and fresh, these sounds were not overused, id say avicii himself was the one to bring that to the table before edm producers got influenced by it. big difference between remaking something and creating it with an empty blank

Depends. I mean to the avg person they sound so great but I'm so picky that I just end up always hating remakes. Even when I try to make my own I get so picky that I never finish them. I have learned tho remakes all come down to sounds design and once u figure out where the sounds are they are pretty easy. If you are really good with sound design too u can easily make them.

@@tamezzodiac2862 That's mostly the reason why remakes don't sound like original songs, every producer knows his preferences in each sound and trying to recreate every single layer is near impossible. I don't know how Frankz made the synth sound too close in this track but he can be proud of it.

the post-humos release trend is allready big enough,so afrojack releasing the song with Tim,whom wasent happy with it,would seen as a way of jumping on the post-humous release trend.. and could potentially upset the fans or even the family.. also all members of SHM are alive,so they have capabilities to the change the leaked songs..

If Tim would be Alive of course not, but since he died, it would just be a nice tribute releasing the instrumental because ALL of them were happy with how the instrumental sounded including Tim, it was just the vocals that he wasn't happy with which is understandable and for a post death release, releasing a song without vocals would be 100% ok.

I’d probably say that This Song/Say Goodbye, Do It For Love, I Just Can’t Get Enough, Unbreakable, Lord and Our Love are some of greatest songs of his that will never officially be released. Maybe in a couple of years who knows. But those song IMO hits differently. They should’ve definitely been on the Tim album

일단 정말 잘 만들었다고 칭찬함. 이 음원은 함께 열정적으로 만들던 곡이었고 엄청 좋았으나 팀이 가사를 마음에 들어하지 않았음. 팀 사망 이후 3달 뒤 어떠한 인물로부터 이메일이 와서 작업을 마무리 해보자고 모였으나 팀이 자살한 원인 중 하나가 음악을 만드는 중압감도 있었을텐데 이걸 왜 팀 자살 3달만에 발매를 위한 작업을 해야하는지 이건 팀을 존중하는게 아니라고 본인이 의문을 제기했다고 함. 누군가 허용하지 않는 이상 관련한 아무것도 공유하지 않을 것. 투모로우랜드에서 라이브로 틀은것은 맞지만 바로 이전에 틀던 곡이 팀의 곡이어서 감정적인 상태였으며 외부로 송출되거나 기록되는 라이브가 아니었다. 해당 라이브가 진행된 장소도 "2012 스테이지"로 참여한 사람들을 위해 시의적절하다고 생각했다. 입니다.
