Avicii was not only a genius, he also showed that when making music, you don't have to follow 'rules' at all. Do what you like and don't try to imitate someone else. Simple advice, but often producers want to imitate someone else. I miss him everyday.

???? Open voicings are not new, I didn't make it past that simply because the guy who made this video uses any work he can find to sound like he knows what he's talking about. Calling a 3rd and a 5th "harmonics" is not correct, everything has harmonics. Then he called the top voice a leading tone and I decided to simply stop the video. I'm not normally negative but this anti learning dumbassery where a producer uses widely known music theory to produce well arranged music and then people who have no interest in learning anything think guys like Avicii reinvented the wheel.

@Solal I explore plenty of ideas on my own, but most of what I come up with had already been explored by others and it's just in some book I don't know about. So I get the idea of just playing and exploring , I'm just not irrationally against any sort of musical intellectualism. By the same coin understanding what makes music successful is part of conveying an emotional message, if these people are so against theory then they should probably stop using lyrics with language and just make grunts and whistles to convey their lyrics otherwise they are just being boring conformists

Indeed, in so many songs you just hear the piano and say no one can have the piano to sound like this except Avicii, and it was obvious in songs he co Produced

A leading tone isn't the tone that is on top. Sometimes, it happens to be on top of a chord but not always. The leading tone is a note that leads into another note that is one semitone higher or lower. Thanks for all the content. I appreciate your work.

You really see his abilities to write addictive melodies and work them into a whole track, keeping the listener interested with "Heaven" The main riff does not stop playing at all throughout the whole track...but you don't get bored of it. Brilliant

Avicii was the force that brought me into music in the first place, so every song is just heavy with nostalgia for me. these days my music taste is a little more rock sentric, but I will never forget what Avicci did for me by bringing me into this wonderful world of music. Fly high buddy, gone but never forgotten....

Hello Alex I loved your effort to recall on the best composition by Avicii. I want to add to this that at the end of second Chords combination, in my opinion, there is the one passing chord he plays at the end of the D# chord, and he plays the F 7 times to compensate that instead of 8. 16x C# + 7x F + 8x D# + 1x C or some lower than D# chord which is passing
