My favorite Sonic game is easily Unleashed. Say what you want about the werehog stages but the ost overall, story beats, Sonic and Chip's relationship, and the fact that you can explore all over the world and learn so much about the cultures of so many ppl is so GOOOD (imo) and overtakes any gripes I have with the werehog gameplay which in general I didn't find it to be that bad and actually liked it a fair bit.

I love Sonic to pieces but real talk: I don't like bringing up the topic of Sonic, it ALWAYS at one point or another turns into a conversation about the series history, the state of the franchise, the fanbase, anything fan-related being better then anything official or what the series needs to get better. Sonic has nowadays become a topic I keep to myself because of those reasons, its never usually about: Their history with the series, what they like about it or anything grounded, the usual spiel of: "Classic Sonic was great but once he hit 3D he kinda lost himself unlike other series" like.. from my experience its always a: "Here's how to make the series better" and not really a: "Here's what I like about the series and why I haven't quite left yet." I keep it to myself cuz its boring always having that how to fix/here's what's wrong with the series in it's current state discussion.

I actually have that Sonic character for my Mugen. It has so many different transformations and attacks the problem is that the A.I. Is trash, and he has low damage and defence. It’s like whoever made him tried to balance and ended up making him suck….kinda like what Sega’s been doing. (Btw my favorite sonic game is Adventure 2 and despite its flaws I also really like 06)

It's not even that. His base moveset sucks compared to, say, Shadow's by the same artist, and he barely transforms due to his AI. Even when he does, if it's not Super or Hyper (usually only at low health), it's the Werehog due to Werehog not having any meter requirements. It's a matter of RNG, and because of how he's built, he's either stuck with his Base moveset, or the even worse Werehog moveset.

I feel like it should be tankier with more defense and damage, but it seems like the creator put more thought into spectacle instead of practicality. Like this thing has straight up instakills when its lower then 50% health but ive never seen the cpu go for one. I perfer using Sonic_TP. Much better cpu and damage output.

@@Splashb4ck437 Well for one, I don't think there's actual code for him to be able to use those IK's/Cinematic Supers, and even if there were, that's RNG too. Unless you go in and mess with some values like I did, he's unlikely to ever bust those out when/if he has the meter for it. I really don't think stat boosts are necessary. Again, Shadow's a fine character. That's because he has decent base form Strings, and is smart enough to cancel String A into B for a longer combo, then airdash after the dunk ender to hit the same combo again for more damage. Base Sonic's combos don't have these advantages. What he needs are better strings as well as a better AI to take advantage of his numerous forms and the rest of his moveset.

The sonic mugen is better 1v1. I know because im into mugen alot. 1v1 allows him to go super and when his health is low, he even auto does hyper but afro put him in team battles so he could barely transform. Sonic is WAY better 1v1. At least for me, sonic usually wins his fights and if he loses, its usually only base. Super sonic rarely loses for me.

I feel like Sonic needs a Sonic Adventure 3 in the style of 1 and 2 with SOME of the cool boosting sections from Generations. Generations did a lot of things right, but it didn’t succeed in bringing back that Adventure style of exploring wide open levels. Yes the gameplay wasn't very engaging and hell probably very challenging to work with(assuming cause i never played it, just watched the entire playthrough on yt), but damn did I adore the concept, worlds, story book style of cutscenes for that and the black knight. For me personally I liked sonic and the black knight cause ive always been into the whole medieval, knights, and kingdoms deal. Favorite Sonic game? Other than the original Sonic 1 on the Sega Mega Drive (as it was called here in the UK)? Sonic Rush on the DS actually. It's an awesome classic Sonic 2D platformer with a boost meter for a fun modern twist and face melting speed. Highly recommended you check it out, maybe try emulating it if you've never played it and don't wanna drop the money or don't have a DS, DS emulation with Drastic is pretty easy on PC :)

Alright everyone don’t kill me when I say this but my favorite game was sonic the hedgehog 2006 yes it was a glitchy mess yes that kiss scene was weird but I enjoyed it while Sonics story was meh I really enjoyed shadow and silvers story though. Not to mention it has some of my favorite songs aquatic base was so chill, crisis city had a sense of urgency, kingdom valley with its vibrant music, and of course his world, especially the instrumental version. And my biggest reason was it let me play as someone other than sonic don't get me wrong I love the blue blur but I enjoyed playing as shadow and not carrying around some weird gun and silvers powers were pretty cool as long as it wasn't being used on me ITS NO USE PTSD. And hands down besides Eggman Mephiles is one of my favorite villains in sonic history especially in shadows story. Again I know full well it has major issues and I agree with peoples problems with the game but I still enjoy it no none the less. And in all honesty I miss she sonic games had serious stories plus I’d rather play sonic 06 than play sonic forces.
