Nemesis is a programmed Tyrant (Mr. X). He is basically WAY WAY smarter then the Tyrant from RE:2 and he has regeneration and on top of that if nemesis take enough damage he can “Transform” and gain a random mutation. He’s quite OP and quite fucking cool.

Also not sure if you’ll see this, but the reason Nemesis is after Jill (and previously Brad) is because of the mansion incident in the first game. I don’t wanna spoil too much but at the end you discover all the monsters you fight were made by Umbrella. And there’s an umbrella base under the mansion. Once the remaining members of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team return they try to report what happened and Umbrellas activities to RPD Police Chief Irons but he doesn’t do much cuz he’s kinda corrupt. So Nemesis was created to get rid of the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members to cover up what happened in the first game. Also Brad was their pilot in the first game so that’s why he was after him too. I suggest playing the RE2 remake if you haven’t already to get the full picture of Raccoon City’s downfall

I pre ordered this game, played it opening day. I was so stoked to play it cause i never played the original. I got to the boss fight with Nemesis on the rooftop with the flamethrower and he was headless/invincible. I had to restart my game which totally ruined the experience for me.
