Yes. RESOUNDING YES. The pelicans and saints both have a General Manager issue, Accountability issues, and Coaching issues. Not to mention the horrid deal with Oschner renewing. Wheres the overlap?? Airline Drive is a mess. IT STARTS AT THE TOP and GAYLE BENSON and DENNIS LAUSCHA ARE DIRECTLY TO BLAME

If she continues to let Mickey make the big decisions, then yes. We have one of the least talented rosters in the league, we don't draft well, the players we do draft who hit are either elsewhere (Baun, Hendrickson, Lattimore) or are old (Kamara, Jordan), the salary cap situation is the worst in the league BY FAR, and we don't develop our players well. Yet the GM-who by the way, didn't even know where exactly we drafted at that presser the other day- continues to gaslight us saying things like "the roster is fine" "had a lot of injuries" "Derek Carr did well in tough circumstances" and we will get it right because "we've gotten it right before." Yes, when Miami passed on Brees and GB passed on Payton...for Mike McCarthy who we are about to hire. I wish I could say that the future is bright, but it isn't. It will be a lost decade in Saints football and it really didn't have to be.

Sadly, yes. She shouldn't have imposed public opinion against Loomis in firing DA. I don't know that DA was the solution. I look at those first two games...and then the injuries happen. So many injuries. McCoy...brutal impact that had, or at least seemed to have. Olave and Shaheed. Kamara and Taysom Hill trying to carry the team, and it was just too much for them without the healthy O-line, that really wasn't that good with McCoy, because Fuaga is a rookie, and Penning seems slow in learning the position. Cam Jordan...I feel so badly saying it, but he wasn't put in the best position to succeed with the limited snaps under DA, but even when they did have him in for more snaps, he still didn't do as well as expected. DeMario Davis continued to deliver, but he got banged up. Pete Werner got banged up...and really, for whatever reason, the entire team was fairly banged up. I look at two other teams that most can agree are well coached and "good teams". San Francisco and Detroit. San Francisco had a ton of injuries, and their record wasn't much better than the Saints. I look at Detroit - they get seriously banged up on defense, but still delivered in real smash mouth, physical fashion. I think sometimes, the ball bounces your way, and sometimes it just doesn't. I don't think Gayle Benson firing DA was the right move. And we can say that because we have hindsight. RIzzi is probably a fantastic coach, so we at least learned that. The only way terminating DA is a good decision is if Rizzi turns out to be the right guy with a healthy team. Folks talk about getting rid of Loomis...and who to replace him? There's just not many guys that can do the jobs he's doing.

We are a team who tried to stay relevant with a soft rebuild in a weak division. We did it with major cap issues which started in 2017 trying to push for a 2nd Superbowl with a declining Brees. It didn't work and now we are where the Lions were 6 years ago.

Cap Management had very little to do with us not winning a 2nd Superbowl. I would say that us trying to push Brees past his prime TOO win a 2nd Superbowl is why we are in Cap purgatory. Brees should have been replaced in 2017. They tried. They were going to draft Mahomes but Chiefs jumped us.....then we never tried again. SP takes a LOT of the blame as well

Not really. TBVH, Drew was crumbling in the playoffs every year after the Minneapolis miracle in 2017. He was way passed his prime, no arm strength and crumbled easily in the pocket when offensive line couldn’t hold. It obviously wasn’t like his younger years where he was a slinger. In the early 2010s it was the defenses fault, but during 2017-2020 Bree’s was a part of the problem in the playoffs. He was just old…. That was the only reason, it was age and regression.

The fact Loomis thinks Dennis Allen was the next Tom Landry, the fact Loomis knew about DA losing the locker room in 2023, about all the locker room toxicity created directly by DA (mostly revolving around DA throwing players under the bus and showing blatant favoritism towards Carr), the fact Loomis was going to bring DA back to coach in 2025 (until the owner, thank god, stepped in and rid the org of the DA cancer), all that is a DAMNING indictment of Loomis’s judgement. For whatever reason, his ego, his job security, whatever… he is incapable of making decisions in the best interests of the organization. Loomis is a major problem in this organization…. I already know he’s going to bend over backwards to hire retread Mike McCarthy and waste another ~5 years of the fanbase’s life… Loomis has to go. There is no question.

Here’s your injury deep dive: The injuries piled up to give the players an out, not to play for this sorry ass team, and protect their individual reputation and future earnings. Trust me, nobody wants to be remembered by being on the 2024 Saints… My God. But “hey, I was hurt” might get you a look by somewhere else not dead last in the worst division with the easiest schedule, a fired loser coach, no way to pay good players, empty dome, etc etc etc…. The only coach we’re gonna get is the last one not hired. Whoever it’s gonna he’s agent is going to have to say “it’s New Orleans or nowhere”. Hell at that point you could stick with Rizz and watch them bottom out another year to get the books out of the red. Then after the great sacrifice season of 2025, move on to the next coach with at least a prayer. Be patient with that one. Wait 3 more years. See what we got. By 2029 or 2030, we may see a decent season.

The Lions have been rebuilding for the last 8+ years. They have no Cap issues and have solid backups. We do not. Injuries 100% led to our demise the last 3 years but they are not the root cause. Saying they led to most of our losses is an accurate statement. It just isn't the full story.
