And the only way to make this team a winning team is by getting better players and coaches which will take money. The problem with the saints is that they don't have money. So the issue with Carr is that it may be more affordable not to have him on the team. Again it has nothing to do with if he's the best qb on the team cuz he clearly is but is he the difference between us being a winning team or not the answer is no.

@dl9232 Firstly, Carr and Brees are totally 2 different situations where the record once again doesn't really matter. Brees was the qb brought in after the new coach arrived (Payton). Carr is the qb of the old coach. I could promise u one thing regardless of who the saints bring in as the new coach Carr will not be a part of the saints' long-term future. Again, it is not because of his record but financial wise. Secondly, when they do get rid of those contracts that ur referring to (which there are more issues) who's gonna take their places and who's gonna coach that defense which is not a good safety or good pass rusher away from being top 10 again?

Derek Carr is a likable guy and he is a warrior when it comes to clocking in and putting in work. My issue is that he is not what our franchise needs. We need a full on rebuild and not a middle of the road QB. He has his moments where he can convince you that he’s the guy but there are also lots of moments where he does the exact opposite. He would be excellent for a team like the Cleveland browns or colts where his services could be used. Our team is in need of a whole tear down and rebuild. We are 5-6 years away from contention, not a middle of the road QB away from contention.

Brees is much better quarterback, but he was also in a much better situation. He had much better coaching and a much better team around him. He went 17-15 those first 2 years. Carr went 14-13 his first 2 years. He improved our offense from 22nd in scoring to 9th his 1st year. This year, he averaged just over 23 points per game, which ranked around 12th in the league. That's with all the injuries. That's also while being paid the 17th highest amount among quarterbacks.🤷🏿‍♂️

Let's check the crime data. Yeah, raising your kids in Fresno instead of New Orleans makes a tremendous amount of sense. The new league year starts on March 12th. Not in the summer A post June 1 cut doesn't save 30 million in dead cap. It transfers 30 million in dead cap from 2025 to 2026. A soft restructure does not require any input or agreement from the player. The team can just do it. A full/hard restructure or renegotiation requires the player to agree to it.

I still believe Derek carr has a broken bone in his hand and maybe tore ligaments etc .why they haven't said it or how the doctors haven't discovered is totally a mystery to me .when I 1st saw him falling down when he was injured I thought his forearm broke in two . Years ago I fell and got up and thought everything was ok but had pain and had a hard time gripping objects , many people suffer this injury when they try to catch themselves when taking a fall .I went to the best hand doctor in the state ,eric George, I know in the past he worked on saints players , he even did a TV ad with Alvin kamara a couple of years ago .so don't be surprised if in the next month or so you don't hear Derek carr will or has undergone hand surgery on his hand .he will have to do physical therapy after the surgery. It will take 3 to 4 months I think for him to be ready to go .but just getting the hand shot up isn't going to fix this issue, and i wonder why the saints let this go on ,or is it there medical staff is that incompetent.

Unfortunately, there is no QB that is going to elevate this team from bad to Elite. I am sorry to say this but this year just provided what we should have known for awhile... this TEAM is bad. The QB is not the problem... except maybe Haener 😂 I am ok with Rattler and Carr. Defense is trash. Our starting 'weapons' are a fast guy that can only catch passes if he is wide open and the other guy has been getting concussions since he was in college... O line can't stay healthy and can't play well consistently.. I will say that if you are hoping for an era of 15 years of one QB then yes DC just mathematically won't make it that far. To be honest, keeping Derek Carr only hurts Derek Carr. This team would need to rebuild and he is this deep in his career dealing with what he has dealt with his entire career, a team that is trying to find it's identity. He took over for raiders when they were switching coaches and QB's like you change your underwear and losing for 13 years straight and took them to playoffs year 3. There's a severe lack of depth everywhere to the point that it really begs the question did Kubiak build the whole scheme around 11 specific guys because it all looked amazing for 2 weeks and then it all fell apart really quickly. Dennis Allen was the worst hire they've made in the franchise but his poor leadership can't be blamed for everything. Its pretty simple(or maybe not), The saints has had great(pro-bowl) players and the GM has had many years... more than enough time and years to continue building the team up, but has made crazy personal mistakes and has really decimated a great team of players, the team, to be truthful should have won at least two more super bowls, but this weird man, this weird energy, the GM has continued to experiment and make all these personal moves and have just destroyed the Saints, it didn't have to be this way, but that's what I mean about weird energy, my point is, everybody knows what I just said is true and they will not get rid of this guy(the GM), Mickey Loomis is solely responsible for the Saints state and condition, its weird man and Derek Carr sees this shit, no he's not the best quarterback, be can be good with the right roster and coaches, the Saints with the exception of a few players, has the roster of college level players, the GM because of his business practices has let a bunch of really good players get away, I'm telling you now , non of those players want to be down there in New Orleans and its because the GM keep making chicken shit moves on behalf of the team, the interim coach "Rizzi" should not even be in the conversation, but its a lot of chicken shit going on in New Orleans football, We'll just have to see what Mickey is going to do next for the team...

We need to stop blaming injuries, no other “good” team in the league is hand tied by injuries it’s a part of the game. It’s the coaching why we couldn’t over come those injuries and yes the saints was dealt with a none normal amount of injuries but that’s been our problem for 3 plus years! Is it the conditioning coach?? Hold people accountable and not just the players. It’s not fair to them because they are coming out every game putting their bodies on the line and we just here like nope wasn’t good enough you suck. Klint is a fraud. Yes I said it. It will dail up a good first half then go back to the simplistic basic possible. Run, run short pass. Klint is good for one half then he glitches out and doesn’t know what else to call. Carr isn’t the QB for us, he isn’t good and never was good so for him not to want a pay cut, goodbye because you didn’t prove you deserved the money we gave you. Most of our problems were coaching eras and an old defense. In most of the games we lost we were leading or had the chance to win!!! With all of those injuries! But when we come into the second half looking like Carmichael is calling the offense again then what do you expect to happen?? Our biggest problem was second half adjustments. When a real NFL team adjusts to what we did the first half and we just downgrade and get simple, they win. It’s simple. We had a practice squad going against a must win Bucs that we were dominating going into the second half they made adjustments and we went away from what was working and started calling the most vanilla simple ass plays to just get 3 and outs. Am I seriously the only one who sees this??!!! You call yourself an analyst, speak on that!!!

Rizzi already addressed the injuries. Under the old staff, players were allowed to opt out of the dynamic warmups before practices and games. That alone most likely accounts for a lot of the soft tissue injuries. Carr is an above average quarterback on a team that needs more depth. That's why the injuries affected us so much. We knew that our starting offensive line was bad. Fuaga helped, as did the scheme, but you can only scheme around the deficiencies to a certain extent. Once the injuries started happening to key players that the offense relied on so heavily, it all came crumbling down. Carr is 14-13 in his first 2 years as a starter with us. Brees was 17-15 with a FAR better team around him and FAR better coaching. I think we just need to chill on the panic and rebuild talk and get perspective. Get a good coach, build the o-line, and add depth. That alone could impact this team in a huge way.👍🏿⚜️

Drew and Carr met twice in their careers. Care to guess who won both of those matchups. Brees is obviously an all-time great, and Carr is above average. That's what a decent QB does. Elevates his team....Carr has done nothing but find ways to lose. Game after game. Holds the ball to long and misses or doesn't see wide open receivers in almost every single game.
