Brian Peacock of Locked on 49ers Podcast joins AFR to break down what the Saints are getting in new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. How will Kubiak run the Saints offense? Which players will benefit the most? We also discuss the impact this move will have on QB Derek Carr.

Expect a lot of play-action & motion, all things that will benefit Carr & will get the ball out of his hands much quicker. Now, how do you set up the play-action you may ask? Well it's simple, through establishing the RUN GAME. Kamara & Miller will FEAST in this new system. I'm excited to see it all come to fruition, it's been way past due to get a complete shake up on the offensive side of the ball & now the Saints have got it. Obviously have to see how it all plays out we don't wanna get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to feel excited knowing there's new & young blood in the building as opposed to all the ancient mummies we had running the offense before.

He absolutely would. The alternative would mean roughly $1M in cap space vs $50M in cap space. The Saints desperately need an overhauled OL and a few key defensive positions as well. On top of that, it would help to give Derek Carr some more weapons to work with. Carr was going to play this season regardless, a restructure isn’t going to affect much considering everyone’s job is riding on this season‘a outcome.

Carr's restructure was purely a DA/Mickey/front office decision. I highly doubt Kubiak was consulted. And why would Kubiak even sign off on restructuring, and essentially extending, a QB that he's never worked with before? Doesn't make sense. They would've just said to him "If you're happy to work with Carr, you're hired. If not, then I guess you're not the right guy for us"
