I thought the side stiffeners were supposed to lap over the top and bottom longerons.

Really appreciate you guys sharing your build experience! One question; Did you apply any corrosion protection before riveting the parts together? I've read with this type of aluminum, it's not really necessary.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! Good question! I supposed this is a fairly hotly contested topic. We did not apply corrosion protection before riveting. Like you said, we decided it's not necessary and very time consuming. We do, however, plan to use the corrosionX anti-corrosion mist stuff once the airplane it completed. For the steel parts though, we opted for powdercoating as the steel rusts like crazy!

@@jeffandadambuildazenith6816 when the alclad is removed, IE, drilling holes into Aluminum, it can eventually lead to some corrosion. it is always best to treat the aluminum with an epoxy primer, since most people do not have access to alodine.

The factory dosent drill out every hole. They expect you to rivit the part in place then use the hole they provided to drill out the ones they didnt

What hole demurring tools are you using ?

Mostly a 1/2" and 3/8" drill bit, and also a swivel blade hole deburring tool. And regular fine files and drill-powered scotchbrite type wheel for edges.

Are the holes pre drilled like an rv kit?

Most, but NOT all. And some are just pilot holes, which need to be drilled to the correct size.

Thats where they save money the time it takes to write a good manual is very costly imagine if someone building one would take the time and write a correct detailed description manual it would take three times the time to build but you could name your price .if I had the money to buy one I would and do just so then sell there manual back to them for alot more then the kit cost no one thi KS of it unless you have written or helped write instructional manuscript for mechanical purposes
