Its bussiness. As long as trucking companies accept low freight rates, shipper and broker will not increase the rate

Can't argue with that, you're absolutely correct.

It's everywhere. Amazon Flex they decrease the fee, mobile notary for real estate , title companies lower the rate. It's horrible. I'm a mobile notary for mortgage closing and they reduce my rate. I used to make 10k during covid time and now I'm only making 5k to 6k. Sad.

LANDSTAR and ATS have predicted a market turn around in June but I see nothing on the economic side to convince me that can happen. I'm a tanker yanker thar runs contract freight and all I'm seeing on our side of things is rate cuts and being that our company hauls products for the beginning stage of the manufacturing processes and that the manufacturing sector is completely in the tank the question becomes how does this market turn around? Inflation is still a problem which makes it impossible for the Federal Reserve to cut the rates that would spur economic growth and the fact that consumers are being pinched hard to make ends meet makes it difficult to see how anything but more drops in volume is possible. I WOULD FREAKING LOVE TO BE WRONG. Lord please let me be wrong.

Has nothing to do with trucking company. If drivers have no guts and do not care for own family - they are the ones that are driving rates down.

All those quoted figures are still under the prevailing wage, when math is done, and they are owner ops - working below prevailing w2 wage and 100% of liability… just shows how cheap the industry is and how much these people can’t do math, nor think - in this case. Also, zero deadhead is not right. Driver did not load and unload at the same facility. - time and money was spent to drive within a city. Also milage shown is city to city and not an actual address to an actual address. Difference in loaded miles can be as much as 5+%. In other words whatever milage he presented, add at least an extra 250 to it. Which also means, the net figures are even lower than shown in this video... Furthermore, chicago area to Pa route had tolls in it. Not just a tiny toll - the most expensive toll road in the country. Take out the tolls and they wasted their money and time. Would have made the same amount of money by sitting still and reading a book. Wonder how many other ignorant and uneducated people do not do the financial math properly, while screwing the industry for other people.. This is how screwed the industry is, logic is flawed.

Fuel cost is a major factor in determining profit or loss. Sure having freight to haul that pays a per mile rate that is profitable is also a major factor in making a profit. Just don't haul freight that is below making a profit per mile rate. Hauling cheap freight will always make sure that there will continue to be cheap freight.

Short week with Passover last week. AFT helped me get $1260 last week @ $3.84 per mile. For the month they have provided dispatch support where I have driven 8967 miles, grossed $24,262 at $2.71 per mile. Thanks to Andy, an amazing partner. Special thanks to V, who has his pulse on the market conditions each week.
@acfeli40715 ай бұрын
So the new thing is $1.87 being profitable now. Mind you that you still have to pay the dispatcher let alone running your equipment to the ground at 3700 miles. That’s a lot of maintenance just saying. And running flatbed for $2.35 is by far just terrible. But that’s what happens when you hire people to control your money. Wake up people.

I appreciate the content however your leaving out calculations with deadhead and negating the fact that half these loads are ending up in shit holes for vans like florida and washington . All miles count. Jason $2.19 ---Jr $1.83 ending in fl---Aaron $2.03 ----David $1.83 ending in Washington st.. Don't lie to yourself. I know i probably sound like a troll but dont do that to these people, hype them up. Im sure you do your best but your are not well above market, you are right there with the market and thats ok bro. You sound like you would be a killer dispatcher in a good market.
@Parasefvirte5 ай бұрын
You are great troll, yea the market is there and brokers do not negotiate, I don’t know how you negotiate with broker because they are going for posted rates, basically they are telling you to take the load and lose money so they can make their pay check
@AFTDispatch5 ай бұрын
One of my dispatchers increased the rate on a load our customer found and wanted to book. He got him an additional $700 on a single load, and we do this all day long for years. I'm not trolling, these are the numbers and if you want to explore further, don't hesitate to call (801) 448-6363 x1
