Cries in Denethor (ok, you may think he was evil, but he was a great man of the same noble Numenorian blood as Aragorn. Denethor was so strong of character that he looked at the Palanthir and Sauron wasn´t able to control him... think about it, Sauron was able to control SARUMAN, who was a frigging Maia of Aulë and the leader of the Wizard! But to peer into Sauron's mind, even for such a great man, was too dangerous. While Sauron never controlled Denethor, he would only show Denethor what he wanted... his armies, his power... slowly, like a rock under a water stream, his will was being corroded by the despair of the end of everything, of his lineage, of his people. Which clearly came down when his son Boromir died AND he saw Sauron's armies at the gates of Minas Tirith.) But again... remember... Sauron corrupted other Maia. Sauron corrupted the frigging kings of Numenor. Sauron corrupted the Numenorian generals with the rings. Sauron corrupted Aragorn's ancestor with the One Ring. That Denethor was not corrupted after decades looking at the Palanthir, but only became despaired, shows Denethor was a superman of incredible moral strenght and resolve. Too bad we only are able to see his downfall, not his prime.

I commend you for following what was happening when Frodo was in Mount Doom. The ring still pulled his desire all the way till it was destroyed and only Sam speaking to him kept him from letting go. Something to keep in mind, Tolkien essentially described that when evil is at its peak no one can resist it. Hence why Frodo was able to resist up until he was standing there to throw it in the fire. The ring is strongest where it was made. Only by happenstance can it be destroyed.

Boromir - Dead after betrayal, then redemption through sacrifice; Aragorn - Crowned as King Elessar, of the reuinted kingdom of GOndor and Arnor; Leved long and passed as a mortal man; Legolas - Returned to Mirkwood, lived many years until the call of the sea made him build a boat and go to Valinor; Gimli - became king of his own small Dwarven society in the Glittering Caves - near end of life taken along with Legolas; Gandalf - Created by Eru Iluvatar (god) as Olorin, returned to Valinor as his work was done; Meriadoc - Became a great hero of the Shire and lived much longer than usual; Peregrin - Became a mayor of the shire or something, lived very long; Frodo - by the Grace of the Valar, and due to his sacrifice of being chief Ringbearer, was granted passage to Valinor; Samwise - lived a long life with Rosie and children, then at end of his life sailed to Valinor with Cirdan, the last Elven Lord.

Sam WAS tempted by the ring momentarily. He is shown the Shire as a Hobbit paradise with living things growing at his hand and him leading, But Sam didn't want all that. His Hobbit heart only wanted a patch of land and a simple garden, so the ring couldnt get its claws in him. Which is funny because he does return later and plant new trees and gardens in the shire and goes on to be mayor for a very long time.

Regarding the giant spider and the light: that spider was Shelob, one of the spawn of Ungoliant who was a GIGANTIC spider that "devoured" light. It literally poisoned the trees that gave life to the land with its bite in a pact with Sauron. He promised her that he would give her the Silmarils (think like infinity stones for Middle Earth) so she could devour them. Instead he betrayed her and kept them for himself and promptly got his ass handed to him. Shelob is weak to pure light, because she is a creature of almost pure darkness. She's not as strong as her mother was, but still more than a match for most things, especially in her lair. Sam taking her out 1v1 was an incredible feat. His small size actually worked in his favor, making him a smaller target for her stinger. Also, the "you bow to no one" at the end always gets the waterworks going.

@mycroft162 ай бұрын
Less did him dirty than it's a tangent that isn't really important to the main plot of get ring to Mordor. It requires more explanation about the Palantiri, etc. It's easy to do in writing but it would have to slow the film plot to explain. Every change they made was to focus 100% on ring to Mordor. Anything they could streamline they did. The whole Eowyn/Faramir thing got extremely smoothed to 2 shots. 1 in the theatrical. I think they did about as good as anyone possibly cood with an impossibly dense world.

Nazgul are screeching, it's the lore thingy. Their scream instigates fear and hopelessness in their enemies. That's why soldiers cover their ears every time a Nazgul comes. Keep in mind that they are not just regular wights, they were the original ring bearers, trapped and enslaved by Sauron himself. It is not by chance that Gandalf spoke with fear about the Witch King back before battle. They are very powerful, and literally immortal. The only reason Eowyn was able to defeat him was because Merry stabbed him in the back with a special blade, crafted specifically to fight the dead, ghosts, wights, etc. When Merry stabbed him, it removed the dark protective veil that made the Witch King mortal again. And the reason Merry and Eowyin got injured from stabbing the WK was because of that dark magic, it infected their flesh. The only reason they survived is because of the King's touch. According to the legend, King has a healing touch.

When they hear it from a certain distance away, they become paralyzed. A weapon that can stun and even kill with its black curse. In other words, people do not cover their ears just because it makes a high-pitched sound. The soldiers lay down their weapons, fall down in fear, faint, or even die. These are not such bad guys, these are brave Gondor soldiers. Their second weapon is. They are surrounded by a cursed and black magic aura known as Black Breath/ Foul Breath. So, for example, there is a black magic aura around them with a diameter of 4-5 meters. Even if a Nazgul never touches you, even if you stay within 4-5 meters of them for a certain period of time, you will be affected by this black curse. It means that you get poisoned and fall to your death, and you fall into dark nightmares and cannot wake up. Think of it like a radioactive substance. If you are exposed at a certain distance for a certain period of time, you die in pain after a while. These weapons are called Black Breath (or foul breath. Now did you get why Eowyn and Pippin stayed in the hospital in a coma for days after killing the Witch King, and Aragorn narrowly saved them with serious treatment? (Last part was at extended edition.. You didnt watch those scenes.. Also as a king Aragorn is one of the greatest healer in the middle earth as well ..)

I love how when Gandalf beats down Denethor, the guards in the background just watch and don't even try to stop him.

1:03:05 “Please kill Porky Pig.” In the extended version, that was the exact moment Gimli and Aragorn kill him. Right as he was about to kill wounded Eowyn.

Sam reunited with Frodo after sometime. Legolas and Gimli sailed for white shores after Aragorn and Arwen passed away , Merry and Pippin were buried next to Aragorn. Btw I hope he watched extended version of Lord of the Rings

Frodo never fully healed from his wounds, which means he could never stay happy in Middle-Earth. He, Gandalf, Bilbo, and the rest are going to the undying lands (Elf heaven essentially), where mortal beings usually aren't allowed. An exception is made for Frodo and Bilbo because they were ring bearers. In the appendices we learn that Sam becomes mayor of the Shire and lives a long and happy life. After his wife dies, he also sails west to the undying lands because he was briefly a ring bearer. So Frodo and Sam do meet again. Merry and Pippin spend their days with Aragorn in Gondor, and when they die they are buried next to Aragorn's grave. Legolas and Gimli remain friends, and their friendship heals the rift between Dwarf and Elf. When they reach their end, they also sail to the undying lands together. It's a massive honor for Gimli, being a dwarf, and never a ring bearer. Once they leave, the fellowship is gone from Middle Earth forever.

I just realized that Caribbean style smooth jazzy music at the end of Joey's outro speech was THE EXACT SAME MUSIC that plays in the town of Costa Del Sol in Final Fantasy 7.... that's how unique and memorable it is! 27 years later I can recognize it LOL

Theoden. The first time we see him, we think of him at best as a dead weight, and at worst as an obstacle. But he grows into a majestic warrior and king, not afraid to die, openly taunting death, brave, fearless, and loyal to his friends and family until the last breath.

There is something poetic about Joey eating carrots. it's said it takes about the same pressure to bite a finger off as biting a carrot in half.

“Why is he not pursuing the ring?” He was. They all thought Pippin had it. And Pippin was in Gondor. All part of Gandalfs strategy.

At last scene.. Frodo went with Bilbo Gandalf and with the others to Undying Lands where any sailors or creatures cannot find but Blessed elves.. Valinor.. That place is kind of heaven.. If you go there, there's no turning back to middle earth because that lands is not on earth..And you lives with Gods at there forever.. No suffer, peaceful living at there.. So they didnt go at the another kingdom or place.. They basically went to heaven..

I love that the battle Merry is in has the elephants making his short height a non-issue. Who cares about him being 4 ft tall when everyone is fighting people on elephants 40 ft up.

You really bout it about it with that wrapping you should do a rap version of the Lord of the rings trilogy. You probably could make it a whole album or just make it like a six minute song it’ll probably go viral.
