Nice combo. I have a 2003 330i and just love driving it. There is something about this car that just feels connected. You don’t need all the horsepower and technology, all that goes out the door when you have something so well balanced and a joy to throw around. If you learn to work on them, they are quite affordable too. A friend of mine told me the only BMW that comes close to the feel is the 2 series you have and you just confirmed that.

@@ReviewYourOwnCar I have a euro spec e46 330ci m sport with the 6 speed manual. We didnt get the engine mods but did get everything else, exterior wise and interior wise. The e46 seems to invoke serious nostalgia in a wide demographic base. I bought it for €2500 about two years ago as the body had some rust and the guy selling was more of an e36 fan. A note was left under my windscreen wiper with an offer of €7500 for the car a couple of weeks back. I couldnt believe it! In the UK their values are increasing even more rapidly. A good low mileage sport model with the 6 speed box can go for as much as £25,000 now.

3 years ago I bought a 2006 imola red ZHP coupe 6MT with 119k miles on it. Since then I have put 30k miles on it with no issues. These cars will run forever with proper maintenance, and will still offer solid performance even at higher milage. Probably my favorite car I have owned and I do not plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

You’ll be happy to know I got my 05 coupe to 240k miles! While it is still going strong, I do wish I had gotten a lower mileage one that would have more life. I have committed myself to this one though so it will get a new/rebuilt engine when the time comes

Congrats on that purchase and am happy you did have no issues with the car! PS: I would like to have your opinion on a 2005 BMW 330CI ZHP in Imola red, in very good shape (according to the ad pictures) and with 40k miles listed for 25k $CAD (19500 $USD) here in Canada: do you think it is worth it? Thanks in advance!

Great video!! Thanks for making it. I remember from Bimmerfest when y’all did the group M2 ED. I used to own a 2004 Imola Red 330i ZHP with Natural Brown leather. It was drop dead gorgeous and I loved it. I still miss that car and have pangs of regret for letting it go. It was a truly special car. The most special car I’ve ever owned.

I'm on the hunt for a ZHP sedan as we speak. Learned to drive stick on a 99 323i and I've also gotten to tear around some backroads in my dad's 2005 M3 ZCP. The ZHP sedan seems like a perfect mix of both without having as many of the costs of maintaining an M.

I think I want an m2 to go with my zhp lol or when the time comes for me to replace the m54, do I try to transfer the m2 drivetrain to the zhp…? Part of me wants to keep the car simple, and enjoy it as it was intended, but then another part of me dreams to make an EPIC car
@46god Жыл бұрын
keep it pure but why would you need to replace the m54? if it’s been maintained should be damn near bulletproof lol
@alextasarov1341 Жыл бұрын
@@46god mine has 246k miles lol the engine still feels good but it’s not going to last forever… I still can’t decide whether to rebuild the m54 and leave it or do a swap. Honestly I’m leaning towards just rebuilding and adding like Schrick cams and upgraded oil pump and full internal refresh. Cheap and simple. When I can afford a swap I will also be able to just buy an m2 lol or m4. I want an e46 m3 and my zhp is going in that direction as I’ve already swapped an m3 trans. But mainly I like the body of the m3. I’ve considered getting m3 quarter panels but the price to weld them in is just so much I could get a widebody installed for less. I dream too big and over complicate stuff. But I still think n55 could be a great option to replace m54. But how epic would it be if I could get m2 subframes and full suspension into an e46…
@46god Жыл бұрын
@@alextasarov1341 yeah i like the refresh idea and the cams maybe stroke it idk? i’m new to this community i just got my e46 325i but now it all makes sense why people rave about them and are so passionate about these cars. and yeah if you got the m2 subframes and full suspension in there that would be badass. i have the factory sport suspension on mine i’m thinking about the bc coil overs but idk i’m worried about scraping on everything here in downtown la lol i might just keep her stock and put money into preventative maintenance and fixing paint here and there im not on a huge budget but damn you get so much car for the money with these e46’s ive never been in love with a car like this haha. and id get an e46 m3 if you can find a manual or just a rare color and low miles i think they will appreciate in value pretty nicely in the next few years when everyone gets electric and realizes their car has no soul
@alextasarov1341 Жыл бұрын
@@46god I’ve actually now considered getting an SMG M3… the SMG and manual transmissions are the exact same transmission. The only difference being that SMG has a hydraulic shifter and slave cylinder. The SMG also doesn’t have the detents (springs) that return the shifter to center. But there are companies that you can send the bellhousing to for machining. Super easy! Then SMG is manual. Just install shifter, clutch lines, master, and slave. Like a refresh. You could even use the same clutch and flywheel. When I swapped the m3 trans into my 330, I got an SMG and converted it. I couldn’t find a manual version for sale but it worked out. But the benefit is SMG m3s are way cheaper lol and you get to at least experience SMG for a bit before converting.
