To br honest i was surprised the zerg didnt make a squad of lings. A combined muta and ling attack on that terran bunker build can shut it down. Then you research burrow and bury 12 lings where the terran parks his tanks or further south and you ambush him with a combined muta ling ambush. I dunno maybe it doesnt work at high MMR but i always thought mutas go best with lings.

Well Artosis does NOT place clicktraps. It's legitbait.
@goomshillАй бұрын
There are a few small optimizations he could make. The tanks had to move up out of bunker range to hit the hatchery, and when the mutalisks tried to patrol/stop attack the tanks under the building, terran has an opening to pop all his marines out of the bunker and add extra anti-air DPS. They aren't really doing much at that point anyway even if they eat some splash. And the zerg cannot manually control whether he's hitting tanks or marines if they're clumped, so they will effectively add a little HP. I assume he was using the SCVs via control groups to repair already but can't really see it. He didn't take the marines out until after everything else was dead, he should have done it at 6:45 and probably just kept them out unless the zerg tries to swipe them specifically
@BigronnieTricepsАй бұрын
it was 3 marines and they would have died instantly to glaive bounce. You need them alive in the bunker if he decides to make zerglings. Thats the point of the bunker. If it dies and the marines die then he doesnt even need to use mutas to clear it anymore, he can just make zerglings and kill the tank and goliaths. You cannot lose the marines no matter what.
@goomshillАй бұрын
@@BigronnieTriceps Goliaths are even more effective against zerglings than (non-stim) marines are. When you're already streaming out goliaths that's not a real concern is it? If the tanks die the push ends and new ones can't cross the map. And if the tanks+goliaths are alive and bunker/marines dead, zerglings can't even scratch mech even without vultures, they eat a few splash shots running in and are up against goliaths which trade off about 25% dps to be 100% tankier compared to the 2x marines
@JCMiniPaintingАй бұрын
Do you think there is any merit to landing the barracks for production once the tanks have been lost?
@goomshillАй бұрын
@@JCMiniPainting I assume once the tanks are lost the zerg can hold the position by just reinforcing with more sunkens, so any more uh, 'sunken' cost into the attack is going to inevitably be wasted when the zerg finally reaches critical mass and clears it out. You need the tanks to breach the sunks, and once they're gone the rest should snowball in and wipe them. You could land the barracks at that point, or better try to float it uphill if you move to siege the main

Another thing terran isn't doing enough is landing buildings against zealots, zerglings and ultras in front of not only tanks but all their units whenever possible. It does make such a difference. And if they don't have a floating building around they could just start building one and cancel it when they move forward. It makes their positions so much stronger against ground units, even ranged ones, like goons and hydras, because most units will waste shots onto the buildings. And dragoons shoot slow. Might even cancel the one or other reaver shot.

I think this is a really neat early aggression but it shouldn't be an all in. After killing the hatch what he should have done was scale back the pressure a bit and expand. Getting ahead of Zerg on expansions is a surefire way for Terrand to beat Zerg. We saw how fragile this can be when Action Attack-moved the mutas in and killed everything. ADDENDUM: Looking at this a bit more in detail, Action was sending his mutas to Foden's base a lot to deny Foden from expanding. If the mutas stayed behind to kill the push he would have absolutely pulled his units back and expanded. The fact that the mutas left to attack the base means that building more units at home was the correct move. Artosis says that "The errors are went you went across the map" but Action HAD to go across the map because if Foden finished an expansion at his natural, it's game over.
@Gamerextra1029Ай бұрын
Lmao I used to do this build all the time on Lost Temple back in 2005. Didn't have the skill/multitasking required to make it work vs good Zergs, but I loved to play aggressive and opening with siege tanks felt like a logical build at the time. Seems like the key is floating a barrack over your tanks to prevent muta snipes. Wish I'd thought of that back in the day!

I think there is a way to stop this with more zerglings and mutas and not lose the natural... but scouting is going to dictate that. He actually used the two zerglings to scout and the last died at 5:03... IDK, it is awesome to see something new like this... wish we had more samples to theorycraft.

You can cover 2 siege tanks with a barracks it's just a rather precise thing to do. In a game trying to shuffle the building and tanks during incoming threats though isn't as viable. Positioning the 2 tan then moving barracks ontop makes the process smoother obviously.
