What’s also funny about this is the similarities between Kiara and the ranger shown in the tokusatsu clip. The clip is from Super Sentai (Japanese power rangers.) The ranger shown (HouOu Soldier) is based on the phoenix. HoloEN is based.

The sword, in the dagger form, is for storage. It has a larger form it takes during combat, if you saw the reference sheet that pencil drawing there - that was it.

The Myth weapons are so weirdly hidden sometimes. Kiara's sword: Can store it in her shield. Ame's needles: Can strap it to her leg. Calli's scythe: Can manifest it from smoke from the underworld. Ina's book/tablet: Can pull it from pocket space. Gura's trident: Pulls it out of her ass?

The sword is small so it can fit into the shield, but it also emits a beam when used, like a Monster Hunter Charge Blade. Also Holomember models are usually given to them, or created to suit the persona behind them, so Kiara's model was already designed with that in mind, being influenced by Monster Hunter.

lol i thought she explained the sword fitting into her shield early on in her vtubing career, so i didn't even realize she didn't know, but I don't really watch Kiara often. I may have been under that impression because she had talked about tokusatsu before and how she wasn't into tokusatsu and that some of her toku inspired designed elements were just from her artist/papa(?). I think kyuranger was airing, so on some level I had assumed the artist snuck in reference to houhou soldier since also phoenix theme. also shown in this video.

I know there's Monster Hunter weapon reference I seen before with Kiara's weapon including the mod too, but there's one official game called Counterside that had a recent collab with Hololive that showcase Kiara's skin character wielding a half staff / spear weapon.
