After 3 DAYS my allotment plot now looks like THIS! Gardening for BEGINNERS

It's day 3 of me working on my disastraous allotment, which hadn't been tamed for over 3 years and is over run with weeds!
I've finally got through to the other side of the plot but there's still 20% or so left to trim.
Trying to get it all sorted whilst balancing my very young family, so tune in to see how I get on & also how I've found a way to babysit & cut the grass!

Ask neighbouring plot holders for their advice. They know the type of soil, what works, what doesn't.

Hello mate, just remember what works for one person may not work for another, we all have our own ways of growing, sowing, planting out etc. No one knows everything, we are all always learning new things, techniques etc. Like everyone else, you will make mistakes along the way, but you will learn from those mistakes. I made loads of mistakes and occasionally still do, like lots of other youtube allotmenters. You have made a good start on the plot, if i had to give you one bit of advice, it would be. Dont do too much too soon or you will sicken yourself. Congratulations on the birth of your second daughter, glad mum and daughter are doing well.

Go to the library borrow a couple of books on Allotment Gardening UK. Started gardening as a 10 year old, why because my parents refused to garden, now 50 years later, will admit am still learning, still make errors, but our garden could feed 5 of us for 20 years, just slightly bigger than yours.

Don't know how the council have the cheek to rent pens out in this state, hope you are getting at least 6 month's free rent, just concentrate on getting rid of all the green first then think about where your beds are going to be, good luck.
