@@isplays6035 its a lol cuz i wouldnt call it a happy ending in the first place, since so many woman and children are been kidnaped in China every year. Like female students are being sold to some villages out of nowhere, and children been sold to people cant get pregnant. a friend of the family bought a child 15 years ago. this is a big issue which the ccp is ignoring. kidnappers are barely being punished.

They didn't know if their son is still alive, look for him almost the entire life. Everyday regret, everyday frustrated. There's a Chinese movie about this kind of family in 2014. Too many cases in China before. Lucky kids get sold to normal families, unlucky ones became disabled beggars (like the blind kid beggar in "Slumdog Millionaire").

You would have thought that being taken at a young age he would have forgot where he was originally. poverty makes people's way of thinking go crazy. people resort to stealing, killing, scamming, hacking, all types of bad things just to have an easy way out of poverty, or just a mere day of being hungry, but in this case it was kidnapping, they must have planned it from the very beginning so they could sell the baby for adoption. The adoptive parents did that because they paid specifically for a boy child. Remember China still had 1 child rule at the timehe was kidnapped. If these adoptive parents had trouble getting pregnant or had had a girl they would need to adopt a boy. In Chinese culture the male children are the ones who care for the aged parents apparently. If you only have girls then you are left to fend for yourself apparently.

harter d nah man the one child policy is definitely a big factor especially for boys. Biys were much more preferable than girls while the policy was going on and there is no denying that. Probably some wealthy businessman who didn’t want children, but the wife did. So they went out a bought one. Or some farmers, who needed help with his farm ...nevermind, farmers 30 years ago didn’t have that kind of money. I’m guessing some middle to upper class family. The wife couldn’t have biological children. They went to the black market and bought one. He seems successful since he owns his own business, so I’m going to assume he was educated. Which leans towards my middle/upper class hypothesis.

krissy kemp they did try to find him. but after a while of the child being missing, they are presumed dead. i think in the us, 7 years after a person is missing they are presumed dead and the government stops searching. correct me if i’m wrong

This story is incredible. Finding a person in a country of a billion is like finding a needle in a haystack. A 2.5 years old.. it’s really just a one way search. That is great detective work. I also feel sorry for the dad. His guilt must have been intense. Glad the story had a happy ending. The son grew up well.

Everyone is talking about the poor parents but THE KID WAS LITERALLY KIDNAPPED! INAGINE HOW SCARY THAT IS! NOT SEEING YOUR PARENTS?! It's like the feeling when you go to a sleepover for the first time and you want to leave early. But that feeling is forever and you cant see your parents and you are afraid that instead of being in a friends house you are in a strangers scary basement and you might get hurt. That is so scary. I feel bad for the parents but most of all for the son.
