I have purchased Artis Powersafe 600VA UPS. I read the user manual. It is mentioned that "Do not attach a power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS". Now the thing is I bought this UPS for monitor, docking station and wifi router with ONU device. I live in a apartment, so we have generator as a backup. I bought this UPS to avoid internet disconnection during power failure. It takes 1 min or 2mins for the generator to start. I want to avoid disruption in my work till the generator starts. So I calculated the total voltage ampere of all devices which I usually connect to my surge protector. Below are the list of device and their Voltage Ampere : Monitor - 48.07VA Docking station - 120VA Router - 12VA Onu Device - 6VA Mobile charger - 20VA MacBook charger - 96VA Personal Laptop charger - 134.94VA --------------------- Total - 437.01VA UPS Capacity - 600VA --------------------- So the total voltage ampere of all the device is 437.01VA and UPS Capacity is 600VA. This is how I would like to connect : Wall point > UPS > Surge protector with above listed devices So my point here is that, can I connect surge protector to UPS, by considering that total voltage ampere should not go above 600VA ? Also consider that those above mentioned chargers won't be connected to surge protector all the time, it will be connected only when it is required. Please advice. Thanks

Yes you can. Gaming computers take that much power. And i have opened my i ball ups and found all wires very thick. So it will be safe to load to the limit from single output port. Hope it helps.

@@Blspeek-ag ups have some limitations. 1. Some ups cause auto off if load is low 2. Beeping 3. Power loss from conversion Here is a better solution 1. 14v dc charger 2. 12v lead acid battery charge control board 3. Any AGM/lead acid battery(7ah onwards). You can connect in parallel also Give charger to control board input, battery to battery terminal, take output from control board output. So it efficiently act as ups for long time. Control board cost 250rs(online), charger cost 350rs. Battery cost 900rs onwards. This is best solution. No power loss, no beeping, continuous supply (like online ups)

@@cawaleybhyya Yes there is no problem using laptop Powered by the cable. Through it's better to remove the battery of it's dead or bad. And it's actually better with UPS cause this prevents unnecessary power off when power outage occurs.

It's not useless, because some people are working from home and are from small towns where power cuts for 8hrs or more suddenly at times. So if working from laptop it gets drained within 2-3hours.

@@gamergrimz Here me Out, For that U dont need a UPS. Uninterrupted Powersupply. A UPS will last at the most 30 mins, not matter the load. So if ur Laptop's internal batter is 100% and u start using UPS, it will work for just 30 mins (or even less in most small brand ups) and then ur on ur Laptop batter for the rest of the time. UPS is really useful for Desktops due to there being no battery in it. We dont buy a UPS for Backup. We buy it so as to protect our expensive computers from unplanned and abrupt power off and also to get some time to safely save our work and turn it of. UPS is not to be used for its backup time. For that Buy an Inverter for 5k and use that as a backup time. Easily 8+Hrs backup.

UPS zyaada se zyaada 15-20 min thakk ka hi power dega. Most UPS ka battery quick drain battery hotha hain. Laptop keliye koi sense nahin. Extrta 20 mins milke aap kaunsi duniya bikaadloge ? Laptop ki low Battery ke warnings ke daunranth hi apna kam save kerke safely shutdown kerpaoge. Aajkal ke laptops mein hibernation standby mode bi aane lage hain, jiske maadhyam se volatile memory se non-volatile HDD mein saara RAM ka session store kiya jaatha hai, jisse abrupt laptop battery drain ke daurant apna session save hotha hain aur jab power wapas aaye toh apna session phirser continue kersakthein hain. UPS ekdum useless hain agar laptop keliye lena chauhoge toh. Agar 10 hrs ka bakup chaye to UPS inverter hi lagaana padega. Yeh beta bus common sense ki baat hain. Gyaan nahin peil rahaa. Sabko malum hain, tum bi aajao abi ek hi theli mein.
