Wow we are a lot alike and I needed this! I’ve been thinking a lot about how fast my kids are growing up! I have four. My son is 11 my daughter is almost 9 and my two twin girls are 5. I’ve been wanting to surrender alot of my to do list and definitely make time for the Lord more but also just talking and spending time with my kids too. Thanks again! ❤️🙏🏼

Thank you for this, @The Eclectic Homeschooler. I find myself wrestling these same thoughts way too often! It's time to do the thing. It's funny how joy and true connection, conversation without agenda and the like, seems to make homeschooling feel less than what it is at times.. I'm in on this journey and will be giving my days over (once again lol) to The Lord, Our Lord whom has called my family to this rich life. 🙏

I felt like my 2022 was a different kind of challenge. I know things need to change, but most of the change needs to happen internally, with myself, because I am the only person I can change. I need to become the change I wish to see in the world. Thank you for your inspiring message and the grace with which you shared it.

Oh my gosh so true! The perfect human being does not exist and daily we are bombarded with comparisons, criticism from others or from within ourselves, judgment, and untruths. May the light of honesty, kindness, and especially forgiveness and love shine through to more people everyday.

Agree! More intentional time with my kiddos. I want them to remember me smiling all the time, gentle and loving, not frustrated because it's not happening like I want. A balance of Marth and Mary, because both are needed. I am limitting all the "measuring" this year and trying to just enjoy the learning. Thank you for your sharing and encouragement. ❤

Oh, Erin! I cried through this entire video. Some of it was ugly tears. 😭😭 This spoke to me so much. God is so GOOD. I also identify with Martha, but it's funny, because I'm not constantly struggling and striving to be perfect, I'm just trying to keep my head above water! I beat myself up about the time that I haven't spent with my kids so much. Just yesterday I felt more called to sit and read picture books with them, even the older kids. My oldest always complains that he is too old for that but he usually ends up sitting with his siblings when he hears the story across the room. 🤣💗 And it also is moving my heart so much to hear other homeschool mamas turning towards Jesus the way we are feeling called to as a family. I have a sign over my kitchen sink that says "Be Still". I have it there as a reminder to be still with Jesus and my family more. It's been there a while now, but I'm attempting to actually follow it's instructions now. Thank you for your vulnerability, as always. You are a treasure to us homeschool mamas!! 😘💗

This video really spoke to me. I feel like this is exactly the message I've been getting too from the Lord-- to just rest in Him. His "yoke is easy" and His "burden is light" when we come to Him and let Him walk alongside us, sharing all that we have and are with Him. It is so hard to always remember to trust Him that He will make everything fair and right, but it is so true that He does that for us always. Thank you so much for this sincere and powerful reminder.

Great focus! Mrs Marilyn from @CharacterConcepts has great videos encouraging homeschool mamas - taking us to Jesus first and then other advices. She is a homeschool mama of 14 children and has seen a lot….including the death of one of her sons and how they were able to take a year off from school and focus, as a family, on the relationship with him. I always learn so much from her.

I cant stop crying listening your words. You dont imaging how your video bless me . This week have been very overwhelmed emotional and 2022 . I will like to have the control of every thing but I can't. I want to enjoy this style of life with me kids with out pression. The first we do is seek God pray together and read the Bible. Because with out him we are nothing. He have been my support when I feel give up I remember to stop all my stress and talk to my self . What is most important ? The learning moment or how my kids feels inside how they need their mom to be. This week i have been trying to start this new year beginning and it have been very difficult ... My kids crying talking about how they feel and I did a BIG STOP and hug them and pray for them and us. Then i start thinking why this happens... And the Lord just put in my heart because you are doing things differents and you want that they learn about Jesus first. And thats why some days you will feel like a emotional battle and stress . I send you a Big hug and i will join with you to seek God more and rest in him more and enjoy our kids more and connect with them more. I will ask them today does questions that you mentions. Your videos and yours advice have been a special part of my homeschool I have been bless. We are from Puerto Rico. God bless You and your family I want a family full of Joy and learn to surrender.❤

thank you. I had tears in my eyes pretty much the entire video. We are planting a church and recently moved way out of state....many states away from home...and so it's been hard. Lately I have been overwhelmed with anxiety about homeschooling...this is our 3 rd year. I love homeschooling, but we had many homeschooling friends back home and we are starting over again. Anyway, I can relate to many things you were saying and I wanted to say thank you for being vulnerable.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling, that sounds like a hard season! I know it’s so much work to plant a church and being away from your support base must make that every more so. So thankful that where God has called us, he is faithful to provide. And when we are faithful to him, he gives us even more than we can ask or imagine. Hang in there, friends and other homeschooling families will come. Until then, He himself is with you! “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

I completely understand where you are coming from. I was there and going so far down that rabbit hole of control and frustration and anxiety I ended up on anxiety medication. I don’t like taking any meds but I was so desperate and in such bad shape I didn’t feel like I had an option. Then I started talking to a Christian counselor and some of my lies about myself, people, and God started coming to light. Now I am being able to relax into that surrender, using his strength not mine to get through my days. I was able to come off the meds and I can sleep at night now. Praise the Father for his love for his children! My word for the year is FOCUS. I want to work this year on lifting my eyes to the hills from where my help comes from. Thank you for this video! I am right there with you, sweet sister! The toil and stress of life have worn me down this past year. So much sickness and feeling like I’m not doing enough in our homeschool day…it’s exhausting! Let Jesus by our answer and focus, every single day! Lord, give us hearts like Mary ❤

This totally resonates with me…and woah! When you spoke about Mary and Martha…that’s so spot on! Trying to listen to Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World bible study from right now media. The book has been an anchor for me. But man 2023 is starting out tough…financial, physical and mental struggles are always there so trying to strengthen my spiritual health 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 it’s so hard at times…but thank you for sharing your own struggles…so good it’s not just me…❤

❤ 2022 is going down in the books with 2020 as one of our family’s least favorite years … but God!! In 2022 I have learned about manna in my own life. Like God provided daily bread for the Israelites…only enough for that day, nothing would last until morning (except the Sabbath)…God granted me enough to get through each day. With 2 new babies, homeschooling, multiple big stressors like: storms knocking down dozens of trees, house/car repairs seemed unending, husband and kids in the ER…I went to bed soooo many nights in tears thinking there was no way I would have enough in me to get through another day. And I didn’t! Not in my own strength. But God!! He gave me enough for one day at a time. And occasionally I even got a little extra rest like collecting manna for 2 days 😉 God always uses our weakness for our good and his glory. To teach us, mature us, and encourage us in how he takes care of us ❤ if we had it all together, we wouldn’t need him! Be encouraged ❤ ~ from another recovering control freak

Hi, I really appreciated this video and you sharing what is on your heart. I relate to a lot of what you said, especially regarding feeling like you always have to be busy doing something and not liking to feel out of control of situations. Me too!! Also, the temptation to feel burdened by children asking us to do something with them when we're in the middle of other things. I am with you in laying some of those things down and prioritising the important moments with our children and with the Lord x

This same topic has been on my heart so much for such a long time too. And He is the one who always centers me again. I've wanted to bond with my children more too... It's not always easy with my special needs sons, because they both can't communicate to me fully. Answering questions is difficult or they can't put their thoughts and feelings into words always, if at all sometimes... Sometimes I feel like even with all these years together, I still don't know them... And there's always that pressure to look at all the things that they "are behind in and how to catch them up" and... I feel like I've been missing the joy of just getting to be with and enjoy my children... I'm with you. I want that!
