@alphacentauri8083Ай бұрын
That's the issue with the military. Nobody really joins to "defend your freedoms" but candidates join to take advantage of benefits at the taxpayer expense, and all of it at the expense of their own free will. The military is a socialist nirvana! Remove the benefits and no one will join the military. Something to think about.

I was a stay at home mom for 20 years. I freelanced off and on over the years to continue to network and fill gaps in my resume. When quite quitting was the trend, I interviewed for a new career. I had freelanced with the company occasionally so I already had a good connection with the team but I was still thrilled to be hired on the spot. Four of us were hired the same month (April 2023) I am the only one who still works there. After the others quit (one was fired), my boss decided not to hire anyone else until now. When she DID hire new people, they were hand picked the same way I was. My boss said she needs quality employees, not a body in a seat. She's willing to pay well and wait as long as it takes for the right people. So, if you can't get hired, as to "intern". Build that relationship, show them your value, and at the very least, it fills the gap in the resume.

"trauma" is a fine word. All of us understand that there are varying degrees of trauma, and using the word doesn't belittle someone else's problems. "gaslighting" is exactly what the news is doing on this issue. You need to trust the evidence of your own eyes, ears, and brain. It's not easy out there, despite what the captured news media is telling you.

I feel bad, but at the same time I hate watching these videos because you don’t get the real story. Everyone always says it’s the company but they never think “maybe I’m the problem, maybe they don’t see me as a valuable employee and I’m unable or unwilling or recognize why that is and change it”. It’s always the large corporation’s fault. Yes, lots of people are fired unfairly, simply for cost cutting, or the business got sold but it doesn’t apply everyone that’s lost their jobs.

The job market is an employers’ market right now, and it’s “Revenge of the Employer” where they’re getting back at the employees when it was the employees’ market. Companies are also doing job interviews for non-existent jobs to keep up appearances to their investors that they’re “still successful”. This should be a wake up call for people to make sure that they have multiple streams of income so they’re not fully dependent upon an employer. Yes, that means “hustle”, and do it NOW while you still have a job. There are great videos and books available on how to get multiple streams of income. Yes, you may have to take some time to separate the wheat from the chaff with the information, but it’s worth the time investment so you’re financially protected.
