I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS REMIX!!! Ever since I heard this song in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, I fell in love with this song and next to Idaten from Shinobi 3, it has became my favourite Sega song that isn't Sonic. I'm so glad there's a cover that mixes both the Bayonetta and Transformed versions. Definitely one of my new favourites!

I'm not really sure Coneria was an attempted take that to this song, or After Burner in general. After Burner II is from 1987 while Star Fox is 1993. That's quite a few years between them.

+Toby Arnold-Jenkins It could have been a homage, but yeah there's been so many songs composed up to this point that its hard to make one that doesn't sound like something else. One example is that a few notes in Xenoblades' "One who Gets In Our Way" sounds like Sonic 3's boss theme.

I'm in my mid 20s, played after burner for the first time in my life on a real arcade machine in a huge retro arcade, machine was turned up loud, and I can't lie, that was a literal blast. Makes me with they could make like an even more modern one that slaps the whole thing inside a centrifuge and makes you feel the real G-forces. And of course, gotta keep the music.

Unfortunately for me, the arcade I used to visit always had music so loud you couldn't hear any machine except for Metal Slug, so it was only when I got, as you well say, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed when I first heard this theme. I also recognized it later on on my Bayonetta 1 & 2 collectors edition during the bike stage. Sick remix as always.

Nice to see some old school SEGA Arcade representation. Excellent cover as always, too! I don't usually request myself, but I feel like putting a few out there that I would personally love to see: Something from Spyro 1-3: Spyro never gets a huge amount of remixes for some reason. Most of the trilogy's songs probably wouldn't work in Metal, but some definitely would. Buzz's Dungeon, Twilight Harbor or maybe Super Bonus Round are my personal choices. Rage Racer from Rage Racer: Like Spyro, I can see that most Ridge Racer songs probably wouldn't work or would be incredibly hard to do in Metal, but this song seems to be a good fit as it already has guitars in it (and as a bonus is my personal favorite from Rage Racer). It isn't hugely varied throughout the song though, so it's probably best for a one minute portion of a Racing game Medley or something.

Ignoring the actual reply, my head canon says that he got the scar while recording this on top of a jet doing stunts in midair... when they were done, an Epic Falcon perched on his hand for a bit for an epic dramatic pose. when the Falcon flew away, it accidentally scratched Jonny. the Falcon apologized and presented a bandaid, but Jonny turned down the bandaid, proclaiming he's too METAL for bandaids... but sadly, he later found out that he forgot to remove the camera's lens protector, hence the game footage... And the original take's music was also deemed "TOO EPIC" by the FDA to listen to and hence we get this version instead...
