Boss Battle (Final Fantasy IV) - GaMetal Remix

GaMetal returns to Final Fantasy IV for a remake of the Boss Battle theme! (Or.. Culex Battle from Super Mario RPG... take your pick.)
I'm not gonna lie to you: the first time I heard this song was from Super Mario RPG. I'm sorry.
I've been a big fan of it ever since. I first remixed this song back in 2010, and personally it was one of the few 2010 GaMetal songs I found acceptable. The guitar work in it was crap though, so I (hopefully) fixed that this time around. I also extended it a bit with a new bridge section and another, faster-paced run through.
I'm pretty happy with the result! Maybe next for FF2, I should do Zeromus...

Fully agree, Weston. There's a lot of stuff out there, and guys are doing their best, but this is really something. Another guy in this league (although not at all metal) is PoopPoopFart. 1:04 Is where this transitions from a merely great remix to one of the best damn remixes I've ever heard. To introduce that much variance while still remaining true to the original melody is a feat that almost no one I've ever heard has ever pulled off. Alongside CarbohydroMusic and RichaadEB, you truly deserve, imo, to be called one of the best game music remixers in the history of the internet. Not that I wasn't convinced of such even before now. Just so you know man. I have a DND campaign which has been going on for 3-4 years, and I have been keeping this song for one of the biggest bosses/baddies of the campaign for when the party encounters him. Such great music, thanks for it. I hope my dming for my players will be half as good for that scene as the soundtrack will be :P

Very nice work on this. The guitar riffs were on point as per usual. Also.... Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you, I heard this first as Culex's theme.... I feel like there, it's more impactful since Culex was the hardest boss in SMRPG (or one of them... when I was younger, I found Smithy harder). Plus in that game, only Culex had the theme. In FFIV, all the normal bosses had that theme. Anyhoo, obligatory song idea.... I've been listening to Chai Kingdom from Mario Land a lot recently.... And thought it might sound really good in your style.
