Many vfx artists use assets from packs. From call of duty, big budget tvs shows, and films to speed up workflows. They’ve been around for decades. Nothing wrong with it. From Action essentials by Video copilot, ProductionCrate, Actionvfx, Bigfilms, etc. it saves time from hand making custom assets unnecessarily. Especially when it’s a quick turnaround. If it work then it works. It’s not like using AI but more like using an outline or sketch and you make the final product suit the situation.
