The precomposed layer is what will drive the displacement on the element layer. I precomposed it so that I can contest the water ripples to get more detail.

Hi baker is it possible for a 3D text in element to cast a shadow on to another 3D model? What i mean is there a way or trick to achieve this effect? :) You got great tutorials for element 3D, kudos.

did you watch Duplicity? Doom had this effect on his edit :) Baker did a fantastic job

You can duplicate the clip layer and then mask out the gun with the pen tool. Then keyframe the Mask Path to follow the gun every few frames. Keep in mind though that you'll have to precompose the layer if you have Twixtor on it.
