hey i am a mechanical engineer my average 3 year pointer is 8 1 intership +project in same company 1 mini project .Took part in national level robotics competition 2 research papers 1 patent filed (technical related to my field) but i have a year gap between my 12th and First year eng and my pointer is decreasing constantly from 9.68 in first sem to 6.36 in 5th and then again up to 9.2 in 6th sem (average comming out to be 8) gre score will be between 315-320 took part in debates, 1 blood donation camp,1 marathon i am really confused which colleges to select because my marks aren't very good and they are decreasing but i have a good enough patent and few research papers which colleges can i try for

Theory looks very good but practically you need more than study. try to collect references while completing your degree. after spending more than 4 lacks you become engineer at age of 25. and from here you come to know reference is more important than marks. some says go for gate, but we already spent 4 lack you will not in able condition to invest more financially and mentally. this is not negative comment, this is practically what engineers are facing. keep open your eye while completing your B.E., because only study never make you successful person.
