I am currently pursuing my undergrad degree from US in one of the best universities for mechanical engineering. I have been into designing for nearly 4 to 5 years now. And i have professional certification from Autodesk for AutoCAD 2018, Revit, Maya, 3DS Max, Inventor, Fusion 360, solidworks, Catia V6 and NX. However, companies here in US don't have many job opportunities for undergrads in the design sector. What in that case would you suggest should i do. Take a transfer to a design college like ACCD (Art center college of design in pasedena) or keep on going with my undergrad degree?

firstly you have to understand the engineering fundamental like design and theory of machines. these softwares are only tool . if want to become a good mechanical design engineer then you must have to very clear about machine design and drawing as well as tolerances. And if you have done masters in mechanical engineering then go for ansys. other wise you will waste you money on ansys coz very companies are in india who are using ansys software. And their basic qualification for Analyst is M.tech or M.E

CATIA is modelling software.It is also useful but auto cad is 2D design software.which will help you to create basic design after that you can create 3D module by using CATIA or any other software.
