@Flowever To be fair, I don’t know why a short video needs a story.
My favorite detail is Agent 3 constantly replacing the fry on her plate. It's something that no one would have really complained about if that shot wasn't included, but really adds to the whole looping concept!

How can he manage to have smoother 3D models than the ones in-game like wtf bro Nintendo should hire you
@nesssness30622 жыл бұрын
In-game models look less smooth due to a reduction in polygons, since the nintendo switch can only handle rendering so many polygons onscreen. For an animation like this, models can use way more polygons and look smoother since computer rendering for animation isn't concerned with moving models in real-time. The only concern it has is making something that looks polished (albeit taking way longer to render each frame as a result). If models with this much detail were rendered in the actual game your switch would probably explode lol.
@nesssness30622 жыл бұрын
As for making the models smoother, they probably either got their hands on a high-poly model taken straight from nintendo (don't ask me how I'm just theorizing) or they just ripped the in-game models and used a subdivision surface to increase the smoothness of the model, and maybe cleaned it up in other ways. Side note, I hope I didn't come across as rude or overbearing lol, I just wanted to share what knowledge I have of 3D modeling and animation, since that's something I'm largely interested in.

"you are the only good splatoon animator" Why you say that? ಠ_ಠ "you" "only" "good" "animator" ??? Everyone are awesome doing their animations, I preffer to call it "animation STYLES" :3 Some people compare my animations with John Sandwich (Which flatters me a bit that they say that honestly because he is one of the ones who inspired me the most in making Splatoon animations xd), I would say our animation styles are similar and I agree with you, his animation style is awesome! but I don't think "That's a GOOD animation" I think "all animations are GREAT" everyone does their best to get the animation style they want, some people like to animate with many details, some others less details. you know what I mean? xP I just hope I'm wrong and you didn't mean what you said literally ^^"

@inkniaexists38202 жыл бұрын
These clips , these calm n chill animations in the crazy, whacky, insanely colourful world that is splatoon is what makes everything else feel real. Of course the squids would be playing turf all day or having a party and get take-out , later drifting off to sleep while watching the TV. The small apartment really sells it, everything in this feels believable and you can kinda predict how tomorrow morning will go: 4 waking up and probably spilling a drink , waking up 8 in the process as they both adjust to the light from outside they struggle to move through the tight enclosure - 3 probably coming out from a different room to check on them and sighing at the spilled drink... I got a bit too into it, I just love these animations so much (especially 5 second rule) because it feels like you're MAKING the game in a way, y'know? Doing what Nintendo didn't and providing content some didn't even know they wanted! It's just amazing , the whole thing: the sound design, the lighting, the way the characters move and respond to eachother, the atmosphere, the use of objects we can't use in game, the apartment design and , of course, the animation. While I'm more of a 2D animator (and albeit rather average) I try to study as much 3D animation as I can, even if I myself don't know how to apply those aspects to animation at all! The movement is so limited because of the small space but that just makes it *work* , it makes it feel *real*. Nothing much is happening but you can tell exactly what's going through 3's mind as she reacts quickly to the chip (I'm British, we call fries "chips") then effortlessly eats it, sips her drink without a single drop of worry. It all just flows naturally and gives the viewer a good understanding of how each character behaves - not just in this video , in many others! And then I love how 3 puts all the drinks back and 4 moves to her original position to create an unnoticeable loop , very clever. Incredible, incredible and nothing but

@@Noamie-Nomie and also, to be fair, this is now Blender, which is much more intuitive to use than SFM which is pretty outdated and cumbersome in terms of tools a lot of times
@Noamie-Nomie2 жыл бұрын
@@restplz It sure is, I use SFM and even though it's development has long ended I still use it because of it's simplistic design and the kind of content I want to make along with the addons that is available to me. I've used blender before but decide not to pursue it further because even though it had more tools at it's disposal I didn't had a connection with it. Whether someone uses SFM or Blender it should be their decision to make, in the end SFM and Blender are just tools and they can only do so much with whoever is using them. At this point even you should know that learning how to use blender is difficult even for beginners let alone knowing all the tools and commands. Regardless, the fundamentals of animation will apply no matter what kind of program the animator uses.
