Paul's version of the ending of the vampire diaries is quite interesting, if that had happened I probably would have hated it because ive always been a stelena fan and wanted them to end up together but Paul's ending would have been better than the actual ending! The only happy couple in the end was Delena. Bonnie, Matt, Alaric and Caroline all lost their loved ones, not to mention Tyler died!

Sounds like the directors gave the cast mostly Paul and Ian a lot of creative power. And we all know why Damen and Elena became such a powerful part of the show, it’s all because of Ian and Nina, they had the most romantic passionate fireworks connection, so much you could feel it through the screen, the directors kept it going because it was sooo hot and the fans loved Delena

Yess,it had the worst ending.We waited a whole year to see an epic Elina and Damon reunion but all we got was a dumb hug . Also I always hated how Elina forgot about stefan when she was with damon. All that stefan needed was his brother.he loved him more than Elina,Caroline and anybody else but he died alone. He was the one who made all the sacrifices ,so damon and Elina could have a long and happy life. I always hoped Elina comes to her senses & she & stefan got back together.but never happened 😩

I think it’s a matter of personal preference and opinions of the characters. Don’t forget the bad sides of Stefan, though. His bloodlust shows how little self control he has even after being alive for a hundred odd years, which highlights how he is as a character and a boyfriend. For me personally, I think Damon and Elena had an epic love. It was exciting, it was passionate...rather than traditional, safe love. Like I said, personal preference. I think it’s important to remember the negatives of characters and know if they outweigh the positives, just like with people. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns with Stefan, as with any human being (or vampire, whatever).

Stefan always made Damon his priority but for Damon Elina always came first.For me the best part of the show was after Elina death because finally we could see that beautiful wonderful relationship between the two brothers . Each character had their own flaw and weakness. Damon couldn’t resist compulsion and he caused a lot of trouble for that. So I don’t think Stefan’s ripper side outweighed his good side.We later found out he took this ripper side from her mother & it was not his fault and don’t forget each time he had to switch his humanity off and become the ripper ,he was trying to save his friends and family.

i could picture Paul or Ian playing a detective on a show like Law and order or NCIS and i also agree with Paul about Elena's memories being erased or that all the events of the show would have been a dream because remember Elena was in a car accident and her parents died so i would have put it as either the vampires never existed and the whole thing was a dream when she woke up or that Damon and Stefen did exist as well as the characters on the show but they were not vampires and all the events of the show were in her head during a coma Elena wakes up and is surrounded by her family and friends and there was nothing supernatural about Mystic Falls.

In a previous interview - before the eighth season, Ian and Paul talked about how they think the series should end. Ian said they should sit on the beach and watch the sunrise and take off the rings and die ... The writers thought otherwise and the end of TVD was lame, They realize it, so they thought to themselves ; let's take Ian and Paul's idea and Copy paste it to "The Original" … so what happened? They just messed up the end of the two series… (And this is without mentioning that TVD season 8 was stereotypical, kitschy and badly written.)
