You are what you eat the body only needs food every 5 hrs ( they body takes 3 hrs to digest 1 hr rest and a snack one hour rest and lunch on and on) try 7-12-5 snack at 10 and 3 and 9. Stick to a 1200 - 1500 calorie a day for woman and usually 18 - 2000.00 for men. Always check with your Family Physician with regards to your BMI( Body Mass Index there is a chart as well as any pre existing issue's you may have before starting any program. That allows you 300 cal per meal plus 3- 100 cal snacks for women in a day so your eating 5 times a day. Now if your meal is dinner out and it's 400 cal's cut out a snack. It's not hard it's math. Everything is Calorie's you ear them and then you burn them. If your not burning your gaining. I have been thru the whole overweight and weight loss journey 40 yrs ago and still maintain my weight to this day. Hope this message helps as it was mt intent. IMO
