Just really miss that emphasis on sincerity and original sound that was so important prior to the 1990s and rise of marketing people dictating music decisions.

I was at the Seattle show where she opened for Cher! It was great. She rolled around on the ground shining a flashlight on herself during true colors. It was so weird and great.

@@ArchdukeOfBelgrade Did George Michael ever win a grammy I may have to look he has not been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet I am torn there they need him more than he needs them but I do think he has earned it and would love to see his friends Andy induct him and tell the haters to stick it LOL on the other hand why wait to induct him after he died he has been eligible since 2012 and he was not even on the list of people to vote or till 2020 and some fans have been pushing hard since 2017 why not before was he never considered or even suggested why was he not considered when he was around to accept it I just hope he would be happy we thought of him not sure of his opinions on the Rock Hall of Fame but as far as the music he earned it and deserves way more than some (Elton Judas John) I call him this for his betrayal after George was taken from us

I went to see Rod in Glasgow in the 80's. We were all pissed, so we got on a train from Carlisle where we lived to Glasgow. Rod will know where I'm on about. Carlisle is about 100 miles from Glasgow. So we enjoyed Rod's concert, continuing getting drunker. Afterwards we boarded a train back home to Carlisle. Unfortunately, we all fell asleep and woke up having missed our stop at Carlisle and were in Lancaster, which is about 100 miles from Carlisle. We all piled off the train and asked a train guard when was the next train to Carlisle? He pointed at a train about to set off. So we ran and got on it. The train guard was shouting something, but we ignored him. So off we went, as the train was approaching Carlisle, we started getting our stuff together, only to notice the train wasn't slowing down. It didn't stop, just flew through Carlisle, we asked another passenger why it hadn't stopped at Carlisle, and she said it was an express, and took us all back to Glasgow! We were hungover, skint and my mate had to beg her dad to come for us. Nightmare. But Rod was great.

Ugh Rod is playing Vancouver again this year and, because I'm a broke student, I have no chance of going. Would be phenomenal though - my dad has amazing tales of the Small Faces playing Van back in the day. Since grade 5 (1999) I loved the Unplugged album but even more recently loved watching the video of this session - I had no idea Ronnie Wood was playing with him!

I agree...ask your parents. You might not get a chance again. Ronnie and Rod are not twenty anymore. I pray you go and see these legends!
@therebex236 жыл бұрын
MissIToldYou Sooo & Maye McDonald Thank you! I totally could ask my parents...but I'm nearly 30 so it doesn't feel quite right considering I am super budget conscious and couldn't rationally ask for/accept money from them unless it was for basic needs like bills etc. Honestly, my dream would be to go to the concert with my dad...he loves to relive his youth (he flew over and we went to the Roger Waters concert in the fall) and I wouldn't want to see a concert alone. I'm sure my parents would pay for it because they are always worried I spend too much time working/studying but I couldn't rationalize spending money on a concert when I could put it on my bills haha.
@therebex236 жыл бұрын
