If you like what you’re doing, and you like your company, I recommend staying put. If you’d rather pull a van with dry freight, and build seniority in LTL, then go for it. I’ve never hauled fuel, and I’ve never ran P&D

@@itisim you’ll be running nights, until you can gain a daytime run. Doubles is easy. All drop and hook. Some companies make you work the dock, but Estes will not

@@itisim LTL can get slow, even to a point of laying drivers off. Some companies will furlough. If you get plenty of rest during the day, you shouldn’t have trouble driving at night. I never had a problem, but everyone is different.

How does being back on days OTR compare to doing nights line haul? Do you feel like you have no life outside of the truck with LTL and night shift ?

Pretty much. Running nights are great, until you get home @ 8am after running all night. By then you’ve adjusted your sleep schedule to where you can sleep while the sun is up. This is great while you’re working. When you take home time, you’ll have to re-adjust your sleep patterns. It sucks because your family will be asleep while you’re driving. Y’all won’t talk much, and y’all won’t see each other as much as you’d think.

I was told nothing specific about what pays more. Merchant Gas pays the most, with less driving.

@@FreightHauler87 Also, not sure where you are located but I plan to move to Phoenix. My Question Scenario is Do they have loads going that far/near based out of the region I’ll be out of ? What’s the most amount of miles you have gotten off of one load ? This load/mi in this video is pretty decent Do you always try to choose the loads with the most miles ? This load was what 2-3 days ?

@@RoadRunnaJ I worked for MGG out of Phoenix. For MGG in Phoenix, you have two options - Fontana, CA , which when I was there in 2022 was paying $30.83/hr straight time (including drive time) but no OT. My weekly gross was about $1800-2000. The other option is Albuquerque, NM, which pays CPM for driving & hourly for everything else. I don't have any info for them, but the drivers I spoke with out of there seemed to really enjoy it and seemed to be paid more as far as I could tell. I didn't get into those details with them. No matter which terminal you end up at, you have the option of parking your truck & trailer at the KAG West yard in Phoenix (unless you have an oxygen trailer - that'll need to be parked somewhere else)

@@RoadRunnaJ occasionally, they’ll offer a load to California, but I’ve only heard about it. Never been offered to me yet. The most miles we run out of Arkansas is about 2,720 on one load (New Jersey), but 2,100-2,200 mile loads are common (as far as the loads with the most miles). I’m not sure if you’ll run to Phoenix or not.
