You could be entirely wrong and you wouldn't even know. Besides, that shouldn't matter if they're happy with each other and their relationship. Honestly, the ring is irrelevant, as society is so focused on selling that as a market prize to make more profit for themselves. My parents have been married for over 30+ years, and neither of them ever had a ring. But even now when they go on a walk, they still hold each other's hands. I think it's more important how you feel about your spouse than a ring, as it becomes irrelevant at that point.
