@@spectrumscribble1498, I started watching a video about the Grogar plot twist and how it ruined Discord the other day. It's around 47 mins long, and I don't even remember how far along I got in it before I decided to stop watching. But something I remember it mentioning was that Grogar never acted like Discord in the slightest way and there was no foreshadowing of the later reveal. Though I'm not really a writer, isn't the whole point of a plot twist to be something you don't see coming? If you ask me, if you have foreshadowing for a plot twist, then it's not really a plot twist. Not to mention, it's called acting. "to portray a specific person from a story or play by fully embodying their personality, motivations, and actions" And that's exactly what Discord did while pretending to be Grogar. Amusing as always, Tinpen. Like you, I revel in the defiantly irrational element of mathematics -- E, i, psi, and so on are keys to Carroll's Wonderland where irrationality reigns. I especially enjoy that we live in a universe of circles and spheres, where God puts pi right in our faces. I'm surprised you didn't mention fractals and chaos theory. Pythagoras and Euclid taught their idealized, perfect geometries while sitting under the clouds and ignoring them. Not until '82 and Benoit Mandelbrot did we begin to understand clouds and other natural shapes. Even Ms. Faust's art is filled with flowing, classical curves and perfect symmetry, where Discord seems jagged and unbalanced. One could also venture into musical theory. Our ponies, plus Spike, offer harmony, the common "do-re-me" scale. Discord personifies the flats and sharps. Without discord, music bores with its cloying major chords. (Anybody else sick of Christmas music yet?) Discord grants tension, so we can enjoy "the return of harmony" at a composition's conclusion. There even exist "alternative harmonies," harmonies operating under different rules, heard in the music of Scottish bagpipes, Japanese Koto, Indian Sitar, and atonal compositions like those of Stravinsky, Gershwin, Schoenberg, and so many more -- all made possible by courageously granting discord a greater role.

Also a bit of thought, what if chaos is in fact a part of harmony? So may be enforced as default to harmony with chaos being a part of it.

[Practical] While not "exact" (error of about 1 part in 3000), I like to use this aproximated ratio for whenever I need NOT the irrational (endless) number itself, but rather a (close enough) *PHYSICAL* representation that I can "touch" & show : Square Root of Two = (2)^(1/2) ~= [ (4 + 5) * π ] / (4 * 5) = (9/20) * π Since: Circle_Circumference = Circle_diameter * π -> π = C/d Then: (2)^(1/2) ~= (9 * C) / (20 * d) Then both parts of the fraction can be made "real" with cord by going around any circular object nine times (9 * C) ; and back and forth through its center twenty times (20 * d). Using the shorter piece of cord to make a square (twice: base & height) for 100% = 1.00 Then the shorter piece of cord with the longer one makes a rectangle with a surface (relative to the "100% square"); that is very close to "square_root_of_2" and much easier to visualize than a line. - - - - - The "origin" of this aproximation is even more interesting: (2)^(1/2) ~= [ ( ( 2^2 ) + ( (2^2)+(1) ) ) * π ] / [ ( ( 2^2 ) * ( (2^2)+(1) ) ) * 1 ] -> Notice that every instance of "1" is actually "1 squared" (the same number: "1" ); something that implies that "π" logically must be also positive (as it is the square of another number).
