My iPhone alarm does that too! It used to keep going & my dog would howl to help wake me up but now it’s either not as loud or the snooze doesn’t work. I bought a cheap alarm clock from Walmart that works well.

Awwww I LOVE that your parents adopt old dogs! That’s so sweet. It makes me so sad seeing old dogs dumped at the shelters. Love the spread! Bummer about the date. 😑 I totally agree with you. It’s IS ageist and specific towards women! I feel like society is ok with men aging but not women. And I love these videos!

Yes it actually makes me so mad that we are like that as a society. I think part of why I didn’t go out with him again was my deep rooted feelings about that. It feels just so icky

That's wonderful that your parent's adopt older dogs! How sweet! As for the guy, you should've said you had a good time, but you just don't date men in their 60s! Lol. I'm 66 but people tell me I look 10 to 12 years younger. Age is just a number. And he's right - that is shallow. It's about the person, not their age.

I disagree on the age thing. If he was intentionally lying to be manipulative, he wouldn't have confessed so early or on the first date. I think the best thing to do would have been to have a talk with him about it and hear him out and voice your concerns and why it affected you so much. Trauma response is to avoid and walk away. You have to have those uncomfortable and vulnerable conversations especially when looking for a life partner. My opinion is to talk to your daughter(s) and your therapist in the future because they would know you best. I say this as someone who's therapist is trying to teach me to use my voice in a safe environment and set healthy boundaries.

Thanks for your thoughts, but I don’t want to start a relationship with someone who is trying to get younger women by lying to them. This has nothing to do with my trauma, I’m fully capable of having hard conversations. This isn’t one of those times. I don’t lie about my age on the app because I always lead with the truth, and I choose to have people in my life who feel the same way. It’s a clash of values, not a relationship issue.
