Mary Ellen, this was one of my favorite videos! It was so much fun seeing the different ideas. I got some inspiration for one of my planners that is mostly writing, but was missing a decorative element. 😊

Just recently got a happy planner and have been so excited to use it and try decorating it. Makes me feel like a kid again ( as I used to decorate my student agenda with random stickers and doodles as a kid) I love watching your videos and getting inspired.

Love them all! Thanks for the reminder that my planner spreads don't have to be works of art (they never are). Thinking of doing a rainbow spread for next week to get me out of this cold weather funk!

This was very helpful! I felt so overwhelmed since I just got my new planner. I just wasn’t sure where to really start. I’m actually going to try to find a few of the currently pages you designed. As I have shared I am new to your channel and somewhat new to using this type of planning! 😊 Thanks for putting this together!

Mary Ellen, I’ve been following you for years and I think you are so amazing. I’m humbled always by your love and vulnerability with your subscribers and how you’ve let us into your life. I hope this does not sound weird or creepy but I keep you in my prayers and send you lots of virtual love. I can’t imagine the grief of losing a child, but as a mom I hold your grief sacred. Thank you also for speaking up on being an LGBTQ/queer ally always but especially in these times. Love will win.

Hey Mary Ellen thanks for the flip through. I took snapshots of a couple. I know you name your spreads so, it would be helpful to give the names. I like that you name your spreads and you always come up with cool and creative names. The one with the hexagons and flowers on the corners. Also the one with the stickers across the middle that you didn’t finish writing in. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh saving this in my Playlist for inspiration. I loved so many I don't think i could pick a favorite but will be trying them out. I use vertical as my default planning. This year my catch all will be frankenplaned with dashboard and horizontal to explore if i like them as much. I feel like a beginner again with those. 😂

is this about decorating or about planning? I am new to Happy Planner but see everyone talking about decorating as if it is of major importance as much or more than actually using the planner. I like decorating, but using half or more of space seems strange to me, I feel there should be 75-90% planning content. life goals plans etc whatever and the rest something for color. I would use the borders which you sometimes leave empty and instead choose to cover up the space for planning. again I am new to this world and maybe this is what people do with happy planners vs other types of planners? Is half the purpose of Happy Planners to use stickers? Does anyone draw in their own simple easy doodles etc, not artist level art, just doodles you can find how to draw on pinterest that anyone and everyone can do? I think of using it for journaling /diary not just to do lists. I will still be watching to see how people use their Happy Planners as I still feel lost. All the pages I see from others also look so busy, it feels like Chaos for me. If I am needing to write appointments and what to do, it needs to be clear and easy to see, without so much distraction. Am I alone in feeling this way?
@thebardslament53372 күн бұрын
Everyone has their own style. Mary Ellen has a decorative style so naturally most of the people who follow her do as well. Regular creativity is important to me and combining it with my planner makes me more likely to use it and hooks my ADHD so I don't get distracted. If you want to do a minimal setup, you can. Planning is like anything else. Take what is useful and leave the rest.
@PlanningwithBumble2 күн бұрын
Yes, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Everyone should do what works for them. Decorative planning for me is a combo of creativity and planning, and it keeps me interested and using my planner. That being said, my work planner is pretty much strictly functional. Ultimately, it’s up to you as to how you use your planner. I like busy pages. For me it’s not chaos, it tickles my brain in a good way. It brings me joy and that’s what matters

Alone? Not at all. I watch this channel for decorating ideas but dial it way back so it's more functional than decorative as that what makes me happy. I also print out my own planner pages which I digitally decorate as I'm making them.
