China didn't achieve its current status by standing still and watching the world go by. With a population of over 1.41 billion, they have a vast pool of brilliant engineers and scientists. The Chinese people are hardworking and extremely innovative, capable of making almost anything faster, stronger, better, and cheaper. As former ASML Chief Executive Officer Peter Wennink said, "The laws of physics in China are the same as here (Netherlands). The more you put them (China) under pressure, the more likely it is that they will double up their efforts." Wennink was referring to ASML lithography machines, knowing that given sufficient time, China will surpass and excel just as they have with many other technologies. This progress will likely lead Western governments to impose tariffs on made-in-China microchips and lithography machines to protect their local manufacturers, just as they have done with Chinese-made batteries, solar panels, EVs, smartphones, and computers. The writing is on the wall for all to see; it's just a matter of time.

Fin FET transistor + EUV = 3 nm, alternatively, GAA FET transistor + DUV = 3 nm. Huawei uses GAA FET transistors + DUV to create the 3nm Kirin 9020 chip used in the Mate 70 Pro. Huawei's Kirin 9020 GAA nano-sheet patent breaks through the heat generation limit of TSMC's N3, breaks through the pitch limit of DUV lithography, and achieves mass production that Samsung cannot achieve. Kirin 9020 is the first mass-produced GAA FET process chip. TSMC's N2 is an improvement of N3 and does not break through the heat limit. Huawei announced its GAA nano-sheet patent on November 22, 2024, and opened orders for Mate 70 on the same day.

@ariesmarsexpress2 күн бұрын
@@Ron_DeForest I was of two minds reading your answer, but to be as clear as possible: The tariffs the U.S. is placing for instance on China's products are: 1. Paid to the U.S. government. 2. Paid by the importing company in the United States 3. Passed on to U.S. Customers more or less directly. Example: A Chinese EV cost $30k to China. The U.S. importer upon receiving the EV pays to the U.S. government a 100% tariff of an additional $30k, making the imported Chinese EV cost the U.S. customer at least $60k. Additionally, and because of this, any American EVs that used to sell for $30k or $40k, can now raise their prices artificially to $55k and still undercut the better Chinese product, thus causing a near 100% inflation across the board. This also completely annihilates the idea of free market capitalism.
