Today we are back on the 1966 Chevy C10 restoration installing a cab corner, tweaking some aftermarket panels to fit better and finished up the patch panel welding on the passenger side. Also, we'll dump some oil down the cylinders on the siezed up 6 cylinder engine in our 1953 Chevy Truck

That was some majestic metal massaging right there. Nice! I'm an Aussie and would be happy to help out with the toupee conundrum but the choices over here are limited to things foreign (obviously) to you and may not be to your liking. You never know though. If you feel like a daring exotic change I could hook you up with a hairpiece made from the bumfluff of a Brisbane Bunyip or the ballbag hair of a Darwin Dropbear. My personal favourite and and strong recommendation though would be the phallic fur of a Wollongong Wombat. Choosing either of these does come with 1 little drawback though. It's not insurmountable so no need to panic. Should you choose to don one of these fine follicle masterpieces, you will need to start consuming the famous and very Australian, French Onion Dip. Granted it's no cheese dip but it's not bad on some Jatz Crackers. Cheers.

I thought the drawback was that you have to collect the donor hair yourself.

@@JackBWatkins Bunyips and Dropbears can be problematic for the uninitiated or even just the inexperienced. Wombats however are friendly creatures who have no issue with the plucking of the phallic fur at all. Its one of the reasons I recommend them so highly. That and the fact that it's just such nice hair. I get complimented on mine at least twice a year.

You may think you are wasting your time but I love watching you do the job properly, but at the same time within limits. Sure someone could spend months expertly shaping scratch built panels, but we know most people will use aftermarket repair panels and you are showing what can be done with them. What I really hate is seeing someone tacking them in then splating seam sealer over the edges saying "It won't be seen and it is what it is".

I just today got my passenger side front floor panel fit & tacked into place...so far, it's the first patch panel I had that much touble with & alter as much as I did...thing definitely wasn't stamped out for a 1969 model... but I finally made it fit...had to actually cut out a section of the panel because it was too wide to even fit in the truck, let alone go where it was supposed to go... I'll finish welding it tomorrow... only took me 3 days to get it to fit...

I've learned a lot from the passenger side... it's been close to 3 decades since I struck an arc, but it's starting to come back to me now that I've got most of one side of the truck floor done... I'm starting with what will never be seen once covered, that way I can get in plenty of practice before I hit the important stuff... and you always start with the passenger side first, that way you don't have to look at your first attempt every time you get in the truck... Lol!

I think that chicken truck spent an extended period of time setting in a chicken house with the hood open and the valve cover off. I did not mean that to sound harsh. Maybe I can say this because it looks remarkably like the engine in my old car. Anyways, I think that when you turn your head and tack weld with the MIG rig, you do a much better job than me when I'm looking at what I'm welding! And I watched some of your newer videos and can see the improvement in your jacket from when this video was made. I need me a jacket like that! It's a common trap the half-wits like me fall into all the time. We think if we had the same equipment (in this case the jacket) as a skilled person, we would also be very skilled.

Don't feel too bad. I don't have any pride in your work either! On the rear joint between the rocker and cab corner - quite a few have fully welded a seam and used a cutoff wheel to simulate a factory seam. It may not work that well in your situation as it would on horizontal seams.

That yellow 3 window would make a great section project. A fellow could cut about 3 inches. Or 75 CM horizontaly out of the body. This might look awesome if the top remains unchopped above the belt line. If the top does get chopped the rear window can remain uncut and the bottom could be dropped to the belt line. AD trucks are sweet. I am so glad I never sold mine.

The frigging cheese dip! Well, my only comment on hair styles is that it is important to preserve the hierarchy of the organization. So in this case Upper Management is very fuzzy-looking, while the worker class looks more shorn. So in order to maintain decorum, it will be best for you to appear more like a jarhead than a shaggy dog. Then everyone will feel satisfied that the workers are in their place working, and Management is lollygagging around, as they should. :)

We don't have any wilderbeasts here in Nevada but one creature is plentiful is the skunk, so I'll pick up a number of roadkills and package them up and send them on to you. The white stripe should give you an aura of sophistication and attract large numbers of hot women. You can skin them and glue the pelt on directly to your head in one piece.

I appreciate the real time. Its nice to get a sense of how fast/slow each tack is and your gap between. Quick question though, if you were worried about warpage, do you go slower, gap them more, cool them off? Do you have a preference for a patch panel?

I have started a campaign in my town to assist you in your hair gathering endeavours. Whereas I am becoming follically challenged myself, I won't be able to donate any hair from my head. However, I shall grow ear hair to long lengths and add them to the submissions. No need to thank me. You are welcome. The floor looks great, by the way.

Was a good way to weld on floorpan saved time and strong. Tear down that motor. At least pull pan and side cover and check crank and bearings in frame. Pull head. For reliability rebuild it right.

Got an idea Kyle...go chrome dome on top and slather or strap on a bit of cat nip and Edgar, Allan and Poe can take turns sitting on top of the ol' cabeza. Give it some thought. Sounds good to me.
