You might want to note that the Derans recovery vehicle is a rotator. They can tow with it but it is primarily a mobile crane for lifting heavy machinery. It could not tow a front end loader. And the loader pictured here basically needs a scrap metal hauler. This was a well-done video and thank you for your notes in the description.

20:30 Not smart standing next to the steel cable being used to pull the front end loader back. Wait until the pulling stops before approaching. If something comes loose, there might be a few more casualties.

In my opinion, some pipe broke during the collision and the hot cooling water started to leak, thus creating the vapor cloud in the cold weather.

Why did they back up
@kevinrobinson834 жыл бұрын
I remember this. There is probably a few reasons. There is a switch yard shortly behind them so they may have pulled back to check damage or get off of the line. Also they were sitting on a section of railroad diamonds that connected to another line (BNSF) which is pretty active. Also right ahead of them is a very steep upgrade that they might not have been able to make without momentum. I've seen a few trains get stalled on that track trying to make the climb.
