Great video! Not many bass in dowerglen dam,only small schools here and there,but hopefully one day they will get the chance to breed properly!

Love that lure bag bro. Great video and glad you mentioning the line issue, We have the same issues here in KZN. Slowing it down properly with the dropshot hey ... tough day ?? ;)
@BassingwithSascha4 жыл бұрын
I kinda thought how I could use this camera bag to it's full potential. The line thing is getting worse and worse. Dude the fish are just not biting up in Joburg at the moment. The cold fronts really mess things up.

Bassing with Sascha yea we had the same thing here in kzn last month bud.

Is this in willow park? Also please can you do a video at Brookwood trout farm, there are some nice bass there. Just dont go to the dam over the river, go to the one with trout, bass, carp, bream and barble. The bass love wacky rig senior there
@BassingwithSascha4 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is willow park👍 I will do a video at brook wood trout farm. Was under the impression your only aloud to fish for trout there.
@Jaime-qd8cr4 жыл бұрын
Bassing with Sascha there are 5 dams total. 3 of them are stocked with trout and they are fly fishing only. There is one dam with bass, carp, bream, barbel and trout, you can fly fish or lure fish or bait fish in this dam. This is the dam I recommend fishing. There is one more dam with only bass and carp but I haven’t ever had any luck there. Keep in mind that if you catch a trout, you cannot release it, they clean it for you. It is really beautiful and the fishing is really good

I remember in the 2000s the size of the bass in dowerglen dam were a lot bigger,nowadays the biggest i have seen in the past few years is probably about 500g.
@BassingwithSascha11 ай бұрын
The dam had a huge surage spill a couple year ago and that killed many bass. So this video was filmed after the surage spill

No luck after that cold front either, bass were visibly following and nibbling but not committing. The water’s still to cold in GP (Ezemvelo). Not even my “go to” 4 inch senko could get them to commit. Keep the videos coming.
@BassingwithSascha4 жыл бұрын
Dude it's so weird that a senko out of all baits is battling to catch fish. I throw a drop shot alot, and i'm not even getting bites on that.
@JonathanBydendyk4 жыл бұрын
Bassing with Sascha give it a week or two with this hot weather and I think the conditions will improve drastically.

After this chat, decided to hit Blaauwpan at lunch and final got one smallish bass (500g) on a weightless Texas rigged 4 inch senko (green pumpkin - faded with red fleck). Wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t for the video, so shot 😀
@BassingwithSascha4 жыл бұрын
Your welcome dude. I'm you caught a fish tho👍
@marcellswartz80214 жыл бұрын
You should try some scent on your baits it realltly helps 🙄 and some great editing in the beginning 🙄😎

Yeah I generally carry some spike it, but my bag is quiet small and i only take what I need. I will next time tho 👍

Hi Sascha I am not sure on when spawning time is for bass in South Africa because I know its different than in Americw
@BassingwithSascha4 жыл бұрын
So pre spawn is happening at the moment. The males are preparing the beds for the females. With in two or three the spawn will happen, This is when the females come up to the beds and lays there eggs. Your time bracket when the female comes up to the bed to lay her eggs is really short, it can be less then a week. This all really depends if the weather is doing the part, by being warm. Then after the spawn is finished, the post spawn happens. This is where the female leaves the bed and the male is left to look after the nest to protect the eggs. I don't fish the spawn much, reason for that is, you taking the fish off there beds and you putting unnecessary stress on the fish. Also if you don't release the fish back on there beds they might not find there nest again. So if you do fish the spawn, just be really gentle with the fish and try release them on there beds.

@BassingwithSascha2 жыл бұрын
HAHAHA really difficulty 😂 Just cast out to the middle of the dam with you texas, drop shot or mojo rig and slowly drag it back.

Do they lock that gate in the evening?
@BassingwithSascha Жыл бұрын
That I am not sure of. It is a public park so try not be at the dam after 6 just due to safety
