Rather than doing a big video this year, I’m going to release 4 in total. Here’s day one of the show with videos from:
Ice Nine Kills
Nothing More
Random Band
Stone Temple Pilots
Evanescence
Rob Zombie
Slipknot
What was your favorite performance?

In case people have found this video because they want to know what Aftershock is like (thats how i found his other videos) here's a run down of how my first Aftershock went. I went to day one only. I've seen Lamb Of God a few times already and I've never seen Slipknot, I could only afford one day, so this was the day I chose. I rolled solo because not everyone likes metal and everyone is broke these days...and after Aftershock, I am now broke lol. 1: Getting there: I drove there from the east bay around 1:00. No traffic, getting to the hotel was simple. I took Uber to the park, I got dropped out on Jabboom st, in front of the bridge, cops were directing traffic. It was smooth. Getting back to the hotel, you are going to want to walk far away from the park if you want an easy, fast pick-up. I walked down to Railyards Blvd. It's an empty long road with benches along each side. I sat down and was able to get an Uber in 10 minutes. Do yourself a favor, stop at the gas station, grab a beer, and go for a little walk before you try to get an Uber. 2: Hotel: $300 for an old ran down motel 6 room on 30th street. Book way in advance, all the hotels in the area fill up fast. 3: Cost of food and drinks...as expected. It's like any other major event. 4: Ins and outs: There aren't any. Once you are in there, that's it. Have fun spending half a pay check on food and drinks all day. I showed up at the park at 4pm, and I got drunk in the hotel before I went. I bought a few beers at the park that cost me my arm and my left nut. 5: Parking: I parked at the hotel and took Uber. Simple and easy. 6: The Show: It was awesome. The stages as you can see are awesome and they have the entire park/trees lit up in different colors at night. Really cool. 7: Bathrooms: Portable toilets, lots of them. I never had to wait in a line to use one, there were plenty of them, but In the hot sun it smelled horrible in that entire area, but when you gotta go, you gotta go. 8: Security: Metal detector, no pat down. Could I have shoved a 5th of vodka down my pants and walked in? Maybe... 9: Sound: The bands sounded amazing. It was cool that they played the bands from the other stages on the giant screens in front of the stage that was getting set up for the next band. So if you wanted to be at the front for the headliner, you could watch the other stage on the giant screen. 10: Dehydration. It's real, I watched a few people being carried away looking like they were going to die. 11: Drink lines: I cannot believe I am saying this...The lines were hella short for beer. A+ for that one Aftershock 12: Food. I ate before I went. I knew it was going to be expensive. I got a churro from the churro/pretzel stand... 13: Line to get in: There was practically no line at 4pm. 14: The people: I love festivals, everyone was in a good mood, no fights that I saw, someone bought me a beer for complimenting their shirt, people were drinking, smokin' blunts, chillin.' Overall good vibe. I even got a free slice of pizza, all I did was tell the couple eating it that it looked hella good. lol. Would I recommend it: Overall a really good night, I had a great time. I wont be going back though, just because of how much it cost. It was worth it to see Slipknot and be at a big event with cool people.

Me my lady and her sister went all 4 days, day 1 was the only day we went at 1 and that heat was something else. And my lady is pregnant and I was worried and kept getting her water and making sure she had food and rested But as stubborn as she was that whole weekend she barely lasted. It was hard to enjoy the bands with the heat, even we had VIP and that was some help lol but I’d say inkcarceration in Ohio in 2021 was alittle more fun in my opinion.

The grass was a huge help with the dust around the Kolas stage! Sadly, I don't think it survived the weekend lmao it was looking pretty rough by Sunday. God I fucking love this festival.

Yeah, I was surprised that it lasted as long as it did. Definitely had less dirt in my nose during the weekend than years before.

Thanks for getting closer to INK. Had to stand a bit back cause I need to always be more safe due to disabilities but it was fun to watch nonetheless. Glad to see the stage presentations better, though. LOL- you got Jesus and Satan in one take! Rob Zombie's set was exactly the same as it was back in 2019 at Pain in the Grass Festival. Still good though. Slipknot was even more insane than Pain at the Grass (we took a fence out that year). I got my first cigarette burns up my arm due to some chick in front of me. =P Was not expecting to have Corey MF Taylor tell us to get down and MF jump but we did and it was great!

Were you standing in the general admission section here 2:39. And is so, were you able to get any closer with the GA tickets?
@toolbert
@toolbert Жыл бұрын
I was GA and you can get as close as you want. VIP gives you an area that allows faster travel between the main stages and some perks (bathroom, food, merch, etc.).
@Andrew.96
@Andrew.96 Жыл бұрын
@@toolbert is this for all stages. Because I seen on the website there’s like a big square close the the stage and it says vip. Then behind the is another area that says General Admission.
@toolbert
@toolbert Жыл бұрын
@@Andrew.96 Yes, in between the two main stages is the VIP area, but that's not the front of the stage. It's basically a short cut between them if you have the VIP. The only other VIP area is right by the sound booth, but that is normally a giveaway for some lucky fans.

@@MaggotfromLA666 I’m sure that they will. I just want some solid headliners and maybe bring it back to only 3 days. I think the quality of bands is hurt by the 4 day thing
