I worked at Dreams, Paradise, Wigan Pier, travellers rest etc. Paradise and soul train were our workers nights - just amazing memories. Still pals with about 10 guys from then. I’m 46 and a granny (two weeks old!) but my man is a dj for 30 years so amazing tunes always there! 🙌🏻 My kids go and see him play ❤️ T in the park, weekenders down south, France etc always dancing buddy 🙌🏻❤️

@@carolinelawrie2392 46 only,.. im 47, i was 19 when i first went to Tenerife to work there in '93...didnt plan anything....just got on a plane and went on me todd, u were really young then in 90/91 to just go and work in another country......fair- play to ya girl, bloody 'ell, u got some balls...😁😁 ( pardon the pun)....anyway do u know a girl called Penny from Manchester she was sound, she used to p.r. for Bobbys in '93 & '94 when i was there but i dont know if she was there b4 that but when we'd finished graftin' down near Mrs.T's and crows nest down the bottom of the strip ( Veronica's ) we'd all go to Bobbys, loads of us...and then go Paradise afterwards and then sometimes over to Pelinors' over the road nr Soul train 'n' that for a "cafe con leche" or whisky or whatever....😎😎....sometimes over to Springers in Los christianos too for the after party.....great days.....living in Tenerife and Ibiza are the only thing i ever talk about....😂😂 my m8s are so bored of me bringing it up all the time if they see my eyes starting to glaze over and talk about the old days in Spain they say dont mention the I-word or the T-word.....😂😂😂😂😂, anyway is your fella a famous dj...just askin' m8 out of curiosity really.....🤘🤘😎😎😎

True, true! But that is where that specific category derives from! "Garage" & "UK Garage" are nomenclatures that come from music played at the Paradise Garage, which were coin phrased by people who never experienced the club itself! House was originally begat in Chicago and now is the phrase to describe 4/4 dance music generally. Btw if you want to learn more about dance music and how it has evolved and so called been reinvented you should start talking to some old heads.

I am very aware of the terms and have often questioned these categorizations. I apologize if I sound snippy but I am still active in the dance community and do regard myself as a "house head".
