Rik and Ade were scheduled to bring back a Bottom like series in 2014/2015. Hasn't been revealed if it was going to be Rik and Eddie, but a similar premise based in an old people's home has been spoken of. Ade pulled out during the writing period. And Rik passed away shortly after. Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's show House of Fools took its place. Which is highly recommended, their imagination and insanity is amazing.

I definitely think they got better actually. I think all 5 are brilliant. But Hooligans Island is definitely up there for so many reasons but we all know the main one. Richies/Rik's best scene ever. And the 'period quote'. Best line ever!

There was going to be a forth season, but it didn't get approval, then they planned to do one set when they're really old and taking advantage of the social security and retirement home, but Rik Mayall passed away in 2014.

Aswad was an R&B group, if you ever see the outtake/bloopers clips you will notice that they tried a lot of different things to say, nun/policeman ect...I am not sure if they were referring to the entire band or just the lead singer Drummie Zeb, a lot of people thought he was called Aswad back then but it was the bands name, its strange that I watched this and I looked up Aswad to get the singers name correct because he sadly died a couple of days ago, it came as a bit of a shock.

In both The Young Ones and Bottom, the main characters were killed off because the producers felt the shows had run their course. It's a bit like the last episode of Fawlty Towers, when you just KNOW that the hotel was closed for sure after the health inspector saw the rat in front of him.

I've got to flag wave for Comic Strip Presents, as The Young Ones is an obvious show to move onto, and I look forward to it enormously, I also love Guest House Paradiso, it's 'different', literally written while extremely high recovering from Rik's Quad Bike accident so it's like a Richie and Eddie fevered dream. There's also Ripping Yarns that I can't recommend enough. If you need a movie and a Rik-Fix, go for Whoops Apocalypse. Very funny, Americans and Brits with an extended cameo for Rik Mayall as an SAS guy. I keep forgetting he's in it before he shows up and turns the hilarity up passed 11.

The new statesman was outstanding. Josh would probably love it. The Young ones was funny and still is pretty funny, but it hasn't dated well. Not sure if Josh would get a lot of it. Filthy Rich & Catflap was the worst of Ben Elton. It even got panned at the time.

F,R&C is superb, as good as the young ones, in its own unique way, but you kinda need to know UK Television of the 70's & 80's, as there are allot of references to celeb's and they are also given nick names too, and with a heck of allot of word play. But is one of Rik's greatest works.

Thank you for reacting to bottom dude, it's such an underrated program, it would be great if you could react to the rest of the live tours, the 2nd is really good and the 3rd is still quality, all of them are still very funny just the last couple didn't have quite the pace and originality of the first few. All of the live ones are a lot better than the film, which does have its moments but is nowhere near as good as any live shows

Rik and Ade started with the "Young Ones", then they did "Filthy, Rich and Catflap", and they did an episode of "The Comic Strip Presents" called "Mr Jolly Lives Next Door." They also did "The Dangerous Brothers" together. And for what it's worth, I, for one, enjoyed the movie, "Guest House Paradiso". And please react to all of the stage shows! If you want something else hilarious with Ade & Rick: Check out this parody they did of early 80s metal for the BBC called “bad news”. It came out coincidentally about the same time as the film “this is Spinal Tap” and it’s the same sort of thing, except the fictional band “bad news” clearly hadn’t “made it across the pond” like Christopher Guest’s “Spinal Tap” had.

Filthy, Rich and Catflap is the show you're thinking of. It's average at best. The Young Ones is much better. Another show which has Rik and Ade is the Comic Strip Presents, where they play different characters. Two of my favourite episodes involve the inept, but hopeful Heavy Metal band Bad News - Bad News and More Bad News. They released a couple of albums (Bad News and Bootleg) as well as played gigs with Queen and Iron Maiden.

Oh yeah, you have got to get into The Young Ones. Definitely better than Filthy, Rich and Catflap. You should also watch Rik’s scene as an SAS squadron leader in a wax works museum in an old almost unheard of movie called Whoops Apocalypse that can be seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ_TfKR8jNiVic0 even you if don’t review it. The scene also features a pre-Kramer Michael Richards. The whole movie is great, but this is the totality of Rik’s part. He just suddenly bursts into the movie in the last quarter, which such a delight if you’re watching the movie in full.

Aswad (who got chucked through the window) were this cheesy reggae band from around the Hammersmith/Fulham/Chiswick west London area. In the late 80’s they did a version of that “Don’t turn around” song that Ace of Base also did a cover of (and had a big with) around 1994.

Guest House Paradiso is pretty funny, but not a good film. Simon’s Pegg’s first film role, Bill Nighy is in it, but it’s strange that it is Bottom, but they were so insistent it was not a Bottom movie.

So sad to reach the end of Bottom. The movie is okay and worth a watch, but their act doesn't really work in movie format, it need the audience to laugh, clap and cheer to bring it all to life and sadly the film doesn't have it. The Young Ones is well worth watching, but, Filth, Rich And Catflap may not be a good one for you to react to as it's based on the ins and outs and workings of British TV so apart from the violence, of which there is plenty, most of the jokes will mean nothing to you as t's all about presenters and shows you won't have heard of. The rest of the Bottom Live shows are all well wort doing though, yes the go down in quality a bit, but they are still funny as hell, in fact my favourite one is the third one. Oh yeah, there's also The Dangerous Brothers which is super violent and is a bunch of short skits so you could do those all together as it has a runtime of only about 75 mins.

Then first two live shows are good...the third one is half-decent, but the other two, as much as I love Rik and Ade, are pretty crappy. The Young Ones is OK, but a bit of a cult show, and it's not as good as Bottom. Guest House Paradiso is terrible. Even Bottom fans will grudgingly admit it's just two hours of your life you'll never get back. I wouldn't bother watching it.

Filthy, Rich And Catflap was a slapstick black comedy mini series about goofy and dumb criminals Ralph Filthy a unhygienic and rude but slightly smart alcoholic TV productor, Richie Rich an insane, immature and stupid failed TV star and Edward Catflap an alcoholic room mate who helps Ralph to get Richie famous at any cost
