When you finally get a chance to eat the marmite properly the best way is with thick white toast, a thin layer of butter then marmite on top. Unfortunately though I don't know how it tastes with American bread so you might have to use homemade sugar free stuff to get the authentic taste, in the US you guys put sugar even in your loaves of bread (which is baffling to me) so you'll find a lot of British people in America saying "American bread tastes like cake" . Even with bread it might not be the taste everyone in the UK is referring to. Great video, whoever sent you that package is an absolute champ, I'm glad you guys had a good time with our snacks!

Marmite is something you have to be careful with. DO NOT spread liberally. It's lovely on a warmer croissant with butter (trust me), brilliant to add a dollop to stuff like Bolognese sauce. If you have soft boiled eggs it's great to put it on toast soldiers and dip in. My brother used to eat it constantly as a teenager and got something called the marmite smile. It had slight burns either side of his mouth from the marmite. The salt content is that high.

American Chocolate mostly isn't real chocolate. That's why it doesn't taste so good. It's "chocolate-flavoured." But in Europe, chocolate is regulated and a minimum of 25% cocoa solids to sell anything and call it "Chocolate" and 20% for milk chocolate. And Cadbury's is gas-station chocolate. So when you have top-shelf chocolate, it's even more delicious! Crunchies are nice but they feel like they are instantly making my teeth rot out.

The adverts for Marmite are “You love it or you hate it”. They’ve actually done adverts where someone hates it. You can get chocolate HobNobs too. They coat one side in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Definitely worth trying Due to the large distances that the milk has to travel in the US, to get to the chocolate factories, they add chemicals to preserve the milk. That’s one reason why Hershey’s tastes different to proper chocolate, and why it can have a gritty texture

The way to eat marmite is as follows: make toast (white bread, not too dark) butter toast when butter has melted on toast, smear the thinnest layer of Marmite over it that you can, don't spread it all over the toast, it should be a thin but visible smear in patches on the toast. When you have mastered that, using this marmite toast to make soldiers for soft boiled eggs is amazing.

Chocolate in the U.K. used to taste good and a lot stronger to me in 1979s and 1980s. The flavours seemed to change about 30 years ago. It seemed to become very continental and wushu washy. When I lived in Australia, many years ago, they still had English style chocolate which tasted good . I think one was called MUD and another WONKA. BTW try Marmite in piping hot buttered toast. There is nothing better!

As a Brit that was 22 minutes of video gold, you were spot on, yes marmite is like beef cubes, that kinda was the intention, a vegetarian alternative to beef dripping, it’s a yeast extract leftover from brewing industry
