World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tops the field for the Airthings Masters, the 2nd stage of the Champions Chess Tour. The 12-player event will be played online on chess24 from December 26th to January 3rd and, as the first Major of the tour, features a $200,000 prize fund with $60,000 for 1st place. The winner also qualifies directly to the Grand Final in September 2021.
The tournament starts with a 3-day preliminary stage where the players play each other once before the top 8 go forward to a knockout. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: championschesstour.com

I read in one of the interviews that Dubov learned chess by reading Kasparov's My Great Predecessors series of chess books. That is simply amazing for a player growing up in the era of computer chess and online coaching, and can probably explain the creativity in Dubov's games, for he is playing from the playbook perfected by past chess champions.

When watching the game on Lichess I notiched that almost every move of the last 15-20 moves were top SF moves! How on earth does he do that being low on time as well?

The most impressive part of all your videos is how you effortlessly pronounce every name! Lol. I’d have no idea how to pronounce most names

I was watching this live, and I can notice the difference between how the commentators approached this game and how Agadmator was able to drill down every move. A great example was during midgame when the commentators thought that Carlsen was on a bind while Agadmator noticed that his setup was actually difficutl for Dubov to respond to.

#suggestion “ The North American rock band Phish played chess against "the audience" during late 1995, starting 9/30/95. The band made its move during the first set, audience members gathered at the Greenpeace table during setbreak, and one of them made the move during the second set. Phish won the first of the two games played, when the audience conceded in Florida 11/15/95. The audience won the second, when Phish conceded at the New Year's Eve show at Madison Square Garden, 12/31/95.” Don’t know if you can find these games but I’d love to see an analysis of them. Love your stuff! #suggestion
