woooooo, got g4 :)) I am finally getting better at these endgame guesses haha. Love the channel Agad, I have been watching for a couple years now and it is always good fun. You really helped me get back into chess (I had played in my childhood) and I am even seeing some real gains recently. Been working a lot of my endgames (following the advice of the great Capablanca) and I have noticed it really improving my games. I always loved violent middle games and fancy sacrifices but I would find myself getting into endgames (when my opponents were good at defense) where I was up but then getting outplayed and drawing or losing. Love the video as always and wanted to comment to bless the algorithm haha.

From 14:20 position, if you check the white king with the rook and the king have to take the rook, isn't it still playable?

Just wondering, at 9:15 you gave the hypothetical scenario of black mocing his Knight to C6 then white capturing the rook on A8 and then the game continuing on from there but wouldn't a better move for white be to just capture the knight on C6 with the rook on C1 instead? That seems like a better option for white unless Im missing something super obvious.
@sure71302 жыл бұрын
Then ra8 takes rc8 and white is worse. Black bishop is no longer pinned so white can't take the queen on d6. White would have to retake on c8 and it's a bigger pain dealing with the queen without the rook pair.

Absolutely, black is actually winning, and this might be weird but I feel it's more satisfying if black survives this and converted that into a win. A calculated queen sac? Sure, move of the century, but this one is pretty bold and luckily the opponent isn't magnus carlsen that the sac worked.
@qazzaqstan2 жыл бұрын
@@oanhienlong7264 I mean White was objectively still fine after the queen sac (iirc the position was +0.3 or something, basically equal but easier to play for white). White just ended up with a losing position because Andreikin was really low on time and Bacrot was defending pretty well (at least not including exd5).
