Awesome video. I'm planning on doing this section in the same direction as you did, so it's great to see it from an E-W perspective as most other videos are the opposite. Really informative 👍. I'm planning on starting at Elafonissi, E4 to Sougia, heading inland from there, bag a few peaks, back down to the coast at Chora Sfakion and then back west to Sougia via the E4 to finish. I'm planning on 10 days, so I should have time to bag a few more gorges en route as well. May next year all being well.

wow, many experienced hikers failed on this tough trail, but you made it, even with a tent on your back and two dogs, great achievement and brilliant footage, thanks!

Thank you so much for your lovely message. It was certainly my most challenging walks. I wasn’t planning to walk all the way but it was so windy I would not have slept so said let’s continue. The walk is beautiful, challenging and a little scary in places. I would only recommend it if you are of a high fitness and confident walker/hiker. I wouldn’t want to do it now as I don’t walk as much as I did then. One day I will do it again, hopefully the whole trial from Kissimos to Sfakion 😍

Planning to do this later this month, with an overnight at Domata. Looks like a serious challenge, and must feel so awesome to finish.

It was my toughest walk yet. I was meant to camp half way but the wind was too strong so did it in one day. It was long but doable just wish I wasn’t carrying my tent as well haha Take care on the walk, some dangerous parts to it especially when tired. The reward at the end is amazing. One day, I will do it again 🥰

Hi Justine,can you tell me when you are at cliff did you walk on cliff edge and how many of those parts you had?
@JustBirnieAdventures3 жыл бұрын
This is a tough walk and parts are very on the edge and climbing over big rocks on the sea part too. This took me 8hours of non stop walking, bring plenty of water energy foods but nothing too much as it is a constant up hill, slightly down up and repeat and repeat hahaha the markings disappear a little bit a little bit of common sense you find the way. An incredible experience to say I have done it! Have fun when you do it and be careful 🌞🌞🌞

Can you do it on trail running shoes?Did you have to rock climb at the end of the cliff or you have handrail?Part where is cliff down is wide enough for one person?Thank you for your time
@JustBirnieAdventures3 жыл бұрын
@@milan2273 trial shoes are fine, I use vivobarefoot which are really slim on the foot with amazing grip as I like to feel where I am walking and use hiking boots. There was no hand rail and only enough room for one step in front of the other but as long as you take it slowly and carefully you will be fine. Maybe the route has improved since last year as well! An absolute pleasure to help and ask questions and if you have any more then please do not hesitate to ask. Just let someone know you are doing it and call them when you get to Sougia. It real is an amazing experience, I will do it again for sure! 😊

Damn, I like that U put out thorough comment. But why is the background music so loud that one can barely hear what U're saying. 🤐

Thank you for your message. This was one of my earlier videos and I didn’t know what I was doing with the music! Now the music is in the background! 🙃
