Happy Birthday to your dad. That cake was a lot of work Yana. Looked delicious. Btw, I have made your cupcake recipe three times. That one is easier for me. I added chocolate chips and cinnamon. Sour cream is so versatile.

I wish your father a happy birthday from us in the Czech Republic. The congratulation with the cake was successful, it was funny and apparently quite unexpected, when the candles were blown out. I read the ingredients of the cake in Ukranian alphabet and the names are basically the same as in Czech: sugar, vanilla sugar, cream, salt, cherries, flour, butter.

Happy Birthday to your father - you know, here six candles on the cake would mean he was only six years old. Quite a young age to have a family. The number of candles you cannot blow out shows the number of girl- or boyfriends you have, according to some here. Cherry cake looks very tasty, homemade all way through. When you once have children and if you want to try a Danish birthday-cake tradition, search for the Danish word "kagemand". And a "kagemand"-recipe - lots of pictures online. A flat sugary cake with candy as toppings, formed as a man (or woman sometimes - a "kagekone"). When I were a child in the seventies, it was a tradition to scream like crazy, when his head was cut off. Imagine 25 kids doing that simultaneously, when he was "executed". Yes, we Danes sometimes have rather weird and bloody traditions. 🇺🇦🇩🇰 Why not begin to make those cakemen in Ukraine ? - original and fun idea for children. You guys could probably be the first ones to sell it?

@@UkrainianSoulsYA You're welcome. Denmark is very much a "candle country", due to hygge. But on birthday cakes, you'll need one per year here. On a "kagemand", though, you will never find a single candle. Just candy.
