This is a great talk. We need as a society to discuss and debate and argue these issues openly. We need to take action to exercise our democratic muscles. Open Letter to Evgeny Morozov: Problem One: the goal you mention in the Q and A was NOT clearly spelled out in your talk. Your talk highlights the problems technology is causing us in the future. But in the Q and A you say the problem is not technology but Venture Capital. Problem Two: Your talk does a great job of focusing our attention on what is wrong. You raise lots of red flags but it is very unclear what an individual can do about it. In a future talk can you spend 50% of the talk describing the problem and 50% of the time describing solutions/actions/success stories? How can we as individual vote for the kind of future we want. How can we wake up the passive consumer masses and get them to participate in creating a future of their choosing. Thank you for your very brave and insightful talk. I look forward to learning more about what you have to share.

One problem I see is part of Mr. Morozov's style of communication. It seems to alienate audience who does not get it.

his overall perspective about the current drift of (digital) capitalism is solid. his crusade against solutionism is not well balanced (same accounts for nachtwey et al. .)
